Thats what I'm thinking, I don't think I'm a rev happy rider, but untill you've tried something you dont know. Also I dont think there is a direct IL4 competitor for the ST range. The VFR is a V4. My mate has promised me a spin on his CBR600, I'll try and see if a 30 min ride does anything for me. If not its a test ride on a ST3 !!! |
You should seriously consider a triple. My Sprint RS has loads of stomp from 3k onwards. It's got grunt, roll-on acceleration in abundance (it is devastatingly quick in top-gear overtakes) and can rev when you want it to, although the red line is surprisingly low and the limiter cuts in at 10500. As a road engine the 955i is hard to beat and I've never found it wanting in any aspect. It's also amazingly economical - with the latest tune & a Triumph performance pipe it will return 60+mpg at about 80-85mph. |
I ran a 955i tiger before the ST2, Great (big) bike. As I said its a IL4 I've never owned. Somehow the Ducati allways seemed a little more "special" than the triumph, maybe just the engine note !! |
Try the ST3,its the best bike that i've ever ridden, just wonderfull. |
oy! 1 Attachment(s) ... the GSXR may be listening  Talking of IL4s I pick up my GSXR 750 on Thursday :) :) :) |
Took a GSXR 1000 K6 out on Friday, OH- MY-GOD !!!!!! Yes you can have too much of a good thing. Took the 748R for a nice long ride after, still No1 |

Streets ahead of the ST2 and a brilliant tourer. It gets great reviews and generally outdoes the Hondas. We've done all sorts on ours from days out to a 9 country European tour last year, Assen this year and planning a couple of weeks in Eastern Europe next year. Deffo worth trying one before going IL4. I'm waiting for the ST4R with testastretta motor :D |
