don't get them started :) you'll have your fingers in your ears in no time at all. I raced a 916 for 3 meetings, and it was found seriously lacking in speed compared to pretty much anything on the grid. It was fairly trick too. I then moved for the next 3 meetings to a 750K1 and was within 1/10th of a second in the second race of the day, beating my PB by nearly a second by end of the day. Costs... Hmmm... i only did 3 meetings, 4 races per day and i needed a £400 serivce on it before i sold it. the day to day running costs are no more than any other race bike, the broken bits these days are about the same. It only really comes down to servicing and power. |

he meant a proper Ducati, not a girls bike for going to the supermarket. |

i loved racing mine. I also raced LouigiMoto's 996 at Donny park the season after as i destroyed my 750. The 996 was sweet and right up there on the power. (at that time anyway). I can see totally why you'd want to ride a Duc mate, but to compete in a sound of thunder race at the front, it has to be pretty impressive. |
i just wana get the full potentiol out of a ducati i find that on the road very hard i already have 3 points on my licence no more thanks is this anyones on here ?? seems a Okish price http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DUCATI-748-TRA...QQcmdZViewItem |

looks nice mate... being brutal here, you'll not be winning in your first season anyway... enjoy the bike and the racing, if you find it's holding you back, get a better one... go for it :) |

Hi Paul ... you need to be careful what 'advice' you listen to. There's plenty of people out there with enthusiasm who think they know what they're on about but actually ... I'll PM you the name of someone who is racing in Thunderbikes and also someone who has raced a 748 extensively. Good luck with whichever way you go :) |
Racing is always about winning everyone knows that but as im only human i know that i will never be at a level where i think ill win unless i have lots of time and money i have done track days but its not the same buzz im just looking to getting the most out of a bike, meeting new people and have a bloody good time doing it and if i win a race it will make it all sweeter but i live in reality and ill just enjoy it. |
