As Dell-boy said a flip up plate would be better.

A flip up/down number does appeal but I can see where the "authorities" are coming from. I'd be interested to know what "legit" reasons you could give to the PD for fitting such a setup, doubles as flan flinger for tailgating motorists???

I thought all new Plates had to be BS marked now to be legit for road use and new ones had the carry the postcode of the company that made them up?

Sie748, check your testers manual, a flip plate makes the vrm difficult ( impossible when activated ) to read therefore should constitute a fail, if as I posted, the MOT station is going by the book.

Registration marks are not Con & Use, the current legislation they fall under is The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001.

Just take the plate off.. and say Oppp's must have fallen off today at some point
