If I go for one, I'm going to replace those cans with a 999 unit, much more in keeping I think personally

could'nt agree more, thats the only real problem i've got with the styling...
those pipes just dont gel with the rest of the bike. it'll be intresting to see what Zard or Sil come up with... i would'nt be able to live with those squinty things they've stuck on.

Confusion over "S" wheels spec

The wheels shown on the studio shots of the "S" are erroneous. The "S" will have black versions of those shown on the tricolore which have much thinner spokes than those seen in the wallpaper shots. These are essentially the same wheels as on the Monster S4RS. I do not know why these were in the photo, but if you look at any of the shots of the "S" in Milan, the wheels are identical to those in the studio shots of the "S"

I'm sure its a gold flash on the tank, but I agree with you and Derek (749er), it does look odd.
It may appeal to some.

it looks like a cross between an aprilia and honda graphics and how many times does it need "ducati" on it? you should be able to tell a ducati without needing big logos or garish paint schemes. i'd think the tank has a bronze stripe to match the wheels and frame.

They need all those graphics as it could be from any manufacturer on the market as it has stlying from all of them. its pants!

They should have toned down the motoGP tricolore look, its got less Ducati logos :) I agree its pants, even if I have a tank cover on the multistrada people who know nowt about bikes know its a Ducati, same with the 999, take the logos off that and I bet they wouldn't have a clue :(

Nice pics Gizmo.

I just assumed it was a further attempt at retro-look, and thought the colour matched the colour used on the frame ? I don't just think it looks odd - it looks awful to me, spoils the other lines completely to my eye, but I'm not a brilliant young Italian designer....
