Yes, we do that. Works a treat.

On the rare occasions a cold caller gets thru I tell them that I am interested then ask them to "hold on a minute". I then gently lay the phone down on the table, walk away and get on with whatever I was doing before they interrupted me. Ages later I put the phone back on the hook. One day I must try to find out how long they hang on for............

Bugger! That's the one I was gonna tell you about. I usually put the phone under a cushion on the sofa and call out to the wife "we got another one!" I get a real kick out of it and actually enjoy it and now actually look forward to the cold calls, especially the ones from the Calcutta call centre.

I know... I gotta get out more.
