Sky can only be broadcast to the UK and Ireland, but as Sky Digital is transmitted on SES Astra satellites located at 28.2°E and Eutelsat's Eurobird 1 satellite located at 28.5°E - these have "footprints" that cover parts of Europe, so the free-to-view channels can be accessed in parts of Europe (with a suitably-sized dish). You can find coverage maps for the Astra satellite on the Astra or Satcure sites. http://www.ses-astra.com/consumer/az...p?locale=en_GB http://www.satcure.co.uk/2d/ The difficult bit is getting the equipment and especially card, but its obviously not that difficult just look at all the pubs in spain that have Sky, every single one of them cannot have recieved Sky digital at their Spanish address. Could it be perhaps that there is a number of locations in the UK that are missing a dish and RX? |
ive got one from the Uk and use mine over here never had a problem with a signal Sky know it goes on but you just have to be carefull how much info you give them if you have a problem |
I got a reply from SKY GERMANY and you can get them, you must have a dish properly installed to thier sat and buy the box and card from them, but it costs € 245 for the box then the packet you will have, so not cheap as here it costs 1 SEK + monthly fees for the swedish satilites |

Worked fine in Switzerland for 4 years. In fact there is a "grey market" for ex pats ... Hook it up, don't put in the phone line. And just don't admit to Sky you are not in the UK ... |

Hook it up, don't put in the phone line. And just don't admit to Sky you are not in the UK ... Like what I said, every bar owner in spain cant be wrong. PS did you know that Sky in the channel islands dont get the BBC channels, so if you have a GU post code you cant watch BBC1! |
