I have a home made one-piece stand to go under the footpegs with eheels for onemanned operation :) . A botched up "high-stand" that goes through the frame once the airbox is out takes care of any fork- or headstock work..

Guys with the Abba stand

I have an Abba stand but no Ducati specific fitting kit. I bought it for my vfr400 and got 2 lumps of metal that went into the holes on the pivot, then got a hornet 600 and took these out and it worked with the standard cups.

As the Ducati specific kit is £20 what do i get 2 more lumps of metal?

Could I do as Nelly suggested and get some 10mm bar and thread through swingarm and hold the bar in cups on the Abba stand?

Thanks

Lee1980 ;)

I thought the fitting kits were £10?? Have you rung ABBA directly?
Yes, you just get two more lumps of metal. They're not a whole lot different to the standard cups you get with the stand. But they are different. The bar through the pivot might work though.
I can give you some dimensions if you can get them made??

Nelly,

The £20 is from M&P where I got the stand from. Ducati ones are the dearest most others are £12.

The lumps i have already just arn't long enough to reach inside the frame. I don't have access to a lathe at the moment or I could easily make them up.

I will try Abba direct, anyone got the number by any chance?

Also try the bar through as well.

Thanks

Thanks for all the replies, not been able to log on for a while due to working all the hours God sends.

In the end, i bought an Abba on the advice of a mate at work. Seems like he was right going on the above. I did like the axle stand / footrest option though!!

Bradders, thanks for the offer m8 - wish i'd seen it before splashing my cash, but i spose having one in the garage for any occassion is better. Im in Horton Heath BTW, near Eastleigh.

Now just got to get the right fitment off Abba. May wait for NEC and see if i can blag 'em cheap......

Are you going to Popham Sunday then?
Paul

I saw the post on Rideouts this morning and would have gone, but i'll be working Sunday.
It's a right pain in the arse, but i work shifts and most of my weekends are affected. But i will try and make the next one, aswell as a few trackdays next year - got the taste for those now having done me first this year.
