Contrary to what is supposed to happen,i have gone to a 120/70 front(180/55 rear) and it has really quickened the steering.Made it feel alot twitchier.I have dropped my pressuresa bit and found it better. Not done enough mile syet to form a firm opinion.(running 012ss's) |
Have you thought about a /65 front (Aprilia fitting)?. I have heard that the bike may be twitchier (more twitchy ?) on a /70 as the COG is raised slightly, but that can be conteracted by dropping the yokes. I found I was off the edge of a /60 so went back to a /70, but will try a /65 next time if I can find one (SuperCorsas) Also believe the profile of the tyre may have more of an effect than the height. What does anyone think of Dunlop 207 gps?? Has anyone used them - are they a track only tyre, or can u use them on the road reasonably well? |
Jodycraw Ive used both the 207 +208 gp's, on the road and track. For road use i wouldnt recommend them at all, they never warm up properly, ever. Same goes for any track compound tyre really. IMO you'd be much better off with a sports tyre for the road BT 010 or similar, maybe Bt012ss or 207 rr's if you do the occasional trackday. |
I was gonna get some 010's or something similar for the meantime, but was thinking about getting some track tyres cheap (as everyone seems to be selling them) for next summer when i want to do some track days. But if they're totally useless on the road then i don't think i'll bother, just stick with 010's or rr's whatever i get. Thanks for all the advice |
