I\'ve seen low readings like that ...

If you're doing small trips, caning it down the dual carriageway.

I reguarly get only 90 miles till light on and concure with 20 miles reserve.

My bike runs quite rich due to chip installed which could cause these figures. What pipes & chip are you running?

I never really noticed any difference with gearing change.

Havent changed gearing myself (apart from 14t front) but other people have with mixed results. When talking about sprockets on vtwins.cc Guido mentioned it ...

Although I have an STM setup, I put a 39T instead of the std 38T (for my '01 748R) when I installed the new carrier.
It really scuppered my mpg figures when caning it, leaving me panting for fuel after 85-90 miles off a full tank. I've reverted back to the 38T without too much loss in low-end grunt but am now back to 110+ miles on "full chat" which suits me better.

Guido / Guy - have you come out of hiding from bonfires yet?!

Invariably 85-90 miles to light.
20-25 miles on reserve.
Do give it a bit ;) and have 14/39 gearing and 50mm Termis + JHP chip though so???????

Oh yes, I forgot before the ****gers join in, I weigh more than your average bear dont we Weeksy, Dibble, Rocket, and so on and so forth

About 100/125 depending on traffic ;)

:) Well people, the gearing is 15/F,36/Rear
and I do give it a bit most of the time  Sadly in the far north where I live I have 85 miles to the first dual carriageway  As for pipes it is as it came out the factory.

Thanks for all the replies ;)
