What if you have a chip that will not budge from the board - P8 management system on my 94 Strada - and I dont want to force it to much? Anyone got a solution? ie is there a form of penetrating oil or anything like that you can use?:( |
try pulling it harder - who err missus ! The last one I had to pull, I needed to get it going using a small falt bladed screwdriver, not the nicest way, but once I cracked the seating, it came out real easy |
Thanks for that - but eventualy took it to a friend of a friend who has the proper puller - job sorted:sing: |
The white plastic cover is held on by something akin to molten rubber. Probably some epoxy etc. You should be able to grip it with point nosed pliers and remove it exposing the chip underneath. Once its exposed you will see which way the chip goes in for replacement. Dont run it for too long with the wrong chip. I experienced this when I fitted the 50mm Termis and left the 45mm DP chip in. Went on a DSC run round North Yorkshire and looked like I was on a Petronas in disguise. Apparently the flames coming out of the exhaust were only over shadowed by the pops and bangs. Got Nelly to fit my new JHP chip as part of the service and it ran and still runs a dream. |
