Jasper
Does Nelly do the correct size (46mm) rear wheel nut either in S/S or Ti?

Rushjob 14-Feb-2004 15:29

Stainless, bi-hexagonal, very Gucci!!!!!
Won't fit my ST4S tho......:(

Yes,stainless steel. Two rear and one front in bi-hex.Lovely pieces of kit and don't mark up/corrode like ally ones.

Can anyone please tell me where on earth I can buy the sockets I need to remove the rear wheel and the sprocket carrier?
Largest ive found anywhere so far is only a 32mm!
Am I right in saying i need a 41mm and a 46mm?

Cheers Joel

Could try here

These are 3/4" drive so you will probably need a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter

Billy - try Harry (HTB) for your sockets, he has some sets made up and may have some left. Top quality.

Or Halfords or your local Discount Motor Spares shop. There are a couple of inch sockets that do the job at low prices.

If you get them from a tool shop you might need to get the shoulder turned off them so they sit right onto the nut.

Billy

Try to find a very cheap tool shop/store.
I got my sockets from a trade show stand, the type that sells all sorts of tools chaep, there with 3/4 drive and cost me £5 each and a 1/2 to 3/4 adaptor cost me £4. I had the Chaps at work skim the sockets so that they fittes straight on the socket, ie removed the bevel from inside the socket.
