In villages, try to respect the 30 or 40, out on urban highways, try to stay within my own limits, if not quite the national guidelines!!

Posted limits, 30, 40, 50 I stick to......
National speed limits..... safe, smooth and progressive taking into account the capabilities of the vehicle and rider/driver as well as prevailing road and weather conditions!
;)
I must admit that I always stop for red lights though

can be a problem sometimes riding within the limits cause car drivers will get real close to the back as if trying to hassle you to go faster, then if the road goes duel and they come past they look at you like they wanna kill you for going to slow......and i`m riding along, just cruising, thinking sheesh ! if i ride fast i get the evil looks, if i ride within the law, i still get em.....

Loz 27-May-2004 09:22

My route to work is normally nose to tail traffic for 80% of it. I hate filtering (upsets my very strong survival instincts!) but it becomes a way of life. I give and get back waves, nods and filthy looks, all in equal measure.
:bouncy:

30s Yes, 40s mainly most of the new 50s are unjustified and the open roads are just that.
Still next week when the white circle with a black line through it comes up I can legally go as fast as I like. Don't you just love the Isle of Man

:)

I stick to the 30 and 40 Limits.

Any built up area regardless of limits i tend to stay in a sensible speed range but if the road is clear and i can see around the bend type thing then i will gas it big style.

But,

I still ride with a margin of safety when on the road.

I got stuck on the other day by a traffic cop.;) when down in cornwall. I was caught on camera doing...........well shall we say more that a ton. I got three points and a sixty pound fine. I guess i passed the attitude test:( The traffic cop did like my termi pipes and small number plate but didnt bother with that.

I suppose it could have been worse. I might not have a licence now!:o

I'm with Rushjob and Rocker...however....
It is dead easy to progress to a faster, more comfortable speed and before you know it....

"I didn't realise constable/officer"

Sometimes you can look at a limit and say...hang on...What is safe?...
There is a 50 speed limit not so far from my school in which I think..."What were the road traffic peeps thinking....???" and I wouldn't do over 40.

24 years in the courier trade leads to making progress as fast as possible SAFELY.

Hospital food and being banned are not conducive to earning, but filtering is second nature and the national speed limit signs are a blessed relief. Love riding quick but only within limits i'm happy with.

Have accured more than a few points on licence over the years but balance that against the mileage covered.
