Thanks again for all the advice Didn't realise it would create so much discussion!! I won't be using warmers as I have the diamond ones without the thermostatic control so I think they're set to 90c - which is too hot I think I've got a K1 & K2 BTW I think the best thing will be to take both sets of pressures and experiment......he says diplomatically....;-D Cheers Chris |

I know they do, and if your as good as they are then fair play... ;) Sorry I was referring to most mortals that are not lined up on the grid.... Or I guess if you are a mortal with warmers on and you have an off at least you wont be able to blame tyre temp...:) |

Why would mere mortals Need wets, You dont need them for a trip down the local cafe to swoon over your mates bikes, If your going on track to race or purely for enjoyment its all about "Getting it right" My point wasnt that Im a racing god, But that if Pirelli who design the tyre and go through the R&D to giving specific spec for optimum use of their product. Why wouldnt you use them ???? is it because You know better than the manufacturer or you think you do??? Chef You can still use your warmers with their tyres, There is a formula for your very type of warmers, Reducing the time with a higher heat, My notes are at work tho so i would have to find them tomorow. |

I'd always listen to your advice and take it..! And I agree with you, I'm just posting with my own ability in mind...small! I think its very important to follow what the manufactures recommendations are. But for most, like me, by the time you've removed warmers, waited 15-20 mins to get queued up, run out to the track the tyres are back to where they were when they came out the van..just as wet and just as cold.. Please don't think I'm disagreeing with you in any way, I'm always out to learn more and take on board what someone like you is offering.. technology changes each day and nothing more so than with tyres..:) |
No Worries Arthur. ;) |
Hi Glyn Speaking as some one with the ability of a turnip I agree with you on the 'getting it right' philosophy Be great if you could let me have the formula or timings for the diamond warmer I'm at Brands on the 23 March so next week would be superb if you can..... Cheers Chris |
A little bit more info for you from Metzeler regarding higher than 75C set warmers like Daimond ones at 90C. with 90C warmers,Simply reduce time to 45-50 mins, Replace the tyre warmers after every session to reduce Heat cycles ( Max 40 Mins) That is all I have matey. Have fun at Brands. Glyn |
Thanks Glyn that's perfect.... |
With respect Chris by the time your done fannying around getting out on track, let alone the wet and cold weathers actions................you might as well not bothered with the tyre warmers in the first place! let alone keeping the heat in them............ |
Ahhhh another tactful comment from the queen of diplomacy..... With respect.....f**k off....:-D |
