Sorted, I had connecting the fuel line to some sort of vaccum stuff on the carbs

Bike's not running yet, but it's farting loudly :D

Muppet :p

Tonio600 16-Mar-2009 21:34

What is it for btw? I understand the need for vaccum to power the pump, but what does it do to the carbs as well?

skidlids 16-Mar-2009 21:38

Tonio is the CV (Constant Velocity) carbs they will only suck up under vacuum and then drop again if the air below them can increase and decrease in volume

Tonio600 16-Mar-2009 21:42

Are you saying that even though I am using an electrical pump, I still need to connect the vaccum inlet on the carbs? That would explain why she would not fire up...

skidlids 16-Mar-2009 21:46

Not sure what vacuum inlet you are refering to, I was thinking of the ones that have the black bobbin type filters on them

or did you originally connect to the overflow hose

Sorry Kev, I was even more confused than I got you confused :)

I actually connected the fuel delivery to the carbs breather

And after swapping the HT leads, the engine's now running. Roll on 2009 :D

Anton, maybe you should mark things or take a few pics before you pull them apart, or is it just the way the French do things

Tonio600 17-Mar-2009 12:23

I don't like taking notes, marking stuff, etc... It just does not help me to understand what does what. Now I know that Mikuni CV carbs have a breather
