Sorry to hear you've had similar probs but glad you've spotted them before the meltdown!!

Mines back from the dealers with new panels and looking good. The helpful guys at Ducati Coventry have replaced the rubber bushes (designed to hold the panels off the exhaust) with larger ones which, should the exhaust move, will hopefully do the trick.

On a different note has anyone discovered the perfect luggage for the SS. The rear panels below the seat look quite heavily sculpted and I'm worried my soft luggage could do some damage - a tailpack could be the answer..?

Hi Tony,
Beleive it or not Im using Oxford's first time sports panniers cheap n cheerfull and theres plenty of luggage capacity aswell as keeping the missus comfortable. As for the tank, the first time extender tank bag works great. Went over to france with it all a few weeks back and proved invaluable.
Plus its all very cheap to, pity it doesn't come in any other colours.

Hi Natty,
Im gonna leave off the fairing panels for the time being, mainly cos Im learning how fabricate my own plastics / glass fibre parts. So depending on how much I learn and or how good I get I should be making some aftermarket bits in the coming weeks. < Only doing this cos I cant find fender extenders and lower fairing grills no-where.

Just remembered Tony, got some piccies from France with the luggage on.

Here you go. "my true love in all her beauty, and the missus hiding behind her";)

Hi Stu,
Your loved one is a joy to behold...! Those panniers look small or do you just travel light?
Just got back from a pretty tortuous trip north. Didn't pick up any soft luggage but went with the back-pack option. The weight didn't go well with the riding position (but then I did cover over 1000 miles between Mon night and tonight so I guess most bikes would strart to get a bit uncomfortable!! )
May try panniers but those moulded panels look too bulbous and flimsy to cope with anything heavy and i don't want to damage the paint.

That trip was pretty light going, so the tank bag wasn't extended, and neither was the panniers. Fully extended the lot hold quite a bit. For solo journey's though I use a cargo tail pack which holds a fair bit.
