Ah yes, nice idea! All you need is a decent 1098 dash and some (a lot!) of spare time :D

Well come March 2010 I may have quite a bit of that

... or you could take this opportunity to get a Nemesis ECU in addition... :)

Really tempting for my 996 at that price. What are the fitting prices ish ?

Craig

No idea about the cost of fitting. Haven't gone out that way yet. Need to get the 996 assembled and running first, Dash will be last thing.

For fitting you may have to get the soldering iron out, take a degree in bike electrics and plan for a few nights in the shed.... at least that's my plan.

Not sure how you program the Gear indicator on the Race Tech. On the MXL Pista, you just give a good run to the bike working through all the gears and it works it out itself based on RPM to speed ratios.

Kev,

I still haven't figured how I am going to solve the speedo pick up.

I like the above idea, but both my bikes are running the smaller Corse floating disc with small Corse caliper mount. I am sort of reluctant drilling those to fit the sensor, especially as there isn't much space for this.

I am wondering whether to make a bracket that will attach to the caliper mounts, or probably simpler yet, put the sensor on the front wheel instead with a bracket bolted to the fork bottom (I have race forks that have been drilled for this already).

Have you come across this problem?
How did you fix it?

I would make a small bracket to hang off the caliper mounting bolt or some other point that you could use.

Not as far north, but PDQ may be able to help or Pro twins possibly as they were set up for fitting FIM ECUs etc

Phillipe my MT940 currently has a bracket off the fork bottoms holding the pickup that aligns the front disc bolts

Thanks Kev
