Taking a chance with comment Jools I always get flamed when I say that.
I thought the most exiting race was actualy the BMW Cup. I sat in the infield grandstand and saw some great action all day. Thankfully everyone got up and walked away.
The M1 South bound was just a joke with all the "Slow Que ahead signs" No sooner had you got to the 2End" sign than the message would appear on the next sign. There was some excuse for this past the accident but it seems that soon as you get to within a few miles of a junction the hold up starts.This doesn't occur on the continent so is it the bad design of British jnctions or just crap British drivers? Of course it could be a combination of both
Ithink I will give Donnington a miss next year and put the money towards a visit to ireland to see some real road racing

Sorry Ian don't know what happened there. Ruth and I came out of the helmet park and all we could see was Phillipe and his mate, couldn't see you anywhere!! We ended up not far from the big screen and so could see the track and follow the race on thescreen. What a sound though - will I ever forget it? No deffo not. Journey home was c**p, left after the Supersport race (which Simon Andrews won) and eventually managed to crawl in at 10 pm after 4 1/2 hours. Ruth apologies for losing you on the way home and it was a surprise to catch up with you as you pulled into the services - we'd stopped at Watford Gap and I'd had enough by then!!!

No worries Webby. Memorable moments of the day: the way you can turn your back for two minutes and people who've followed you for 100 miles evapourate in a totally enclosed area, finding a superb position where we could watch the bikes on craner curves and then turn round and watch the racing on the big screen, and then watching that reasonably uncluttered spot become a mass of like minded bodies that you could barely pick your way through to get a cup of tea! the amazing noise of the bikes and the crowd, the adulation for Rossi and Edwards, and, in spite of getting left behind in the bike traffic, being one of thousands of bikers leaving the park and riding home. The whole day, my first proper biker's day out at the races, I won't forget that for a long time! :sing::sing::D

Highlights .. I think they have all been covered (though noone mentioned the peculiar abscence of air horns this year {thank god}).

If you go by car , park in the last field you come to and turn RIGHT at its top .. this brings you out by the south circuit side toilets and routes you ONTO the track .. you'r suposed to come off it at the esses and out to main gate. Total elapsed time since entering car to arriving at gate 10 minutes :O) :O) :O)).

Since the B*****D organisers were so condescending When I informed them my ticket was stolen (but couldnt prove it .. tent unzipped etc...). We decided to decided to fek coming off at the esses and have a free lap .. definitely a highlight.

Great to catch up with a few more DSCers. Sorry I didn't get down to the DUK hospitality, but the views and sounds from the esses after last year were far too good to pass up again.

Highlight for me was the sound of Bayliss' and Capirex's Desmosedici's on overrun into Goddards and getting Tino's Doughnut on video at the end...

P1sser of the day had to be getting 3 miles up the M1 from Jnctn 24 on the way home and hitting dry roads and glorious blue sky, all after spending the whole day in the drizzle and wet....Why couldn't it have made it that extra 3 miles south......

yeah it was still a top days racing, I was lucky enough to have made it down on Fri and Sat too although I missed Day of Champions this year. The Dukes do sound awesome with that twin pulse motor.
Shame I never made it over to the Ducati hospitality area either but I did bump into Jasper in the Donington members enclosure.
It was stil busy when we left at 9pm after wandering around in the paddock/pit lane for an hour in the rain after security had gone home ;)
Anyway roll on Brands this weekend, me and Nelly will be there from mid-morning Friday so don't plan a trip to Cornerspeed this weekend.

Had an excellent weekend apart from the inclement weather on the way back home. Racing was superb especially the brits and ducati finally getting near the front. Think the only way to stop Rossi is to make Biaggi ride pillion - lets face it after that performance it would be his only chance of a podium.
Best part for me was the welcome (and food) from fellow DSCers in particular Scott and family. There were many others but sadly the stella has erased my ability to remember more than one name at a time.Campsite (Pigpen) was like some biblical famine scene with alcohol and my personal gratitude to the organisers for allowing us to drag our worldy belongings 1/2mile.
