Mine does it in first too. Although not all the time. Mines a 999bp which doesn't have a slipper clutch as std I think. Someone will confirm this point as I'm new to the Ducati thing. Question Is fitting an anodised pressure plate(?) an easy thing to do? Any special tools required? |
Yep, my 999R does it too. And no slipper clutch. I thought it was normal, is it? :puzzled: |
did you know the 749r has a new slipper cluch nowas the old ramps were to shallow !!!! it could be that your plates are finnished? i know two people with 749rīs and both have recived an new clutch from the 748rs as replacement from ducati i might ad as the first resion was the centre spring was to weak, the cluch was on constant over run when you slowed down using the gearbox..... |
I had a replacement slipper clutch due to the dreaded 'freewheeling' effect going into corners. No problem since it was changed......still snatchy on take-off though |
Had it happen several times just took out the plates blew off the dust refit the plates (correctly way round) and everything is fine. |
I got a new Bucci under warranty as well :sing: |
I took mine out and fitted a 'Fast By Ferraci' one, much much smoother and no noise . It also stopped the freewheeling effect and made the bike fell transformed coming into corners. |

Easy .. just need an allen key to remove the springs. If you are going to have an open cover (like there would be any point in having an anodised plate with the std cover?) then get a set of stainless springs (come with replacement stainless screws). You can get them from SpareShack for Ģ25. If you don't then the first whiff of damp in the air and the springs will go rusty. Doesn't affect the performance, but spoils the looks somewhat. |
My dealer (sole distributor) in HK is hesitating in believing this clutch problem. I am getting fed up with the noise and the "rpm drag" when this noise appears.... Is there an email address that i can email ducati for help directly?? thanks Jack |
I have a DP slipper clutch to replace the standard one on it's way , I only have to pay the difference between a standard one and the DP one as it is being replaced under warrant for the freewheeling problem , Ducati are also paying for the fitting  |
