Henners? I didn't know you had one? Recent addition?

This thread and the noise about 996R's is really annoying me! Don't get me started on the fact that this bike isn't eligible for Desmo Due ... but, I SO want one!!!

I hate you all - barstewards!!!

Henners 14-May-2005 21:02

Cheers Tony ...

.. bought her this evening. No. 135 with 908 miles and perfect in every detail. I've wanted this bike forever, all the buying and selling to get here was an interesting journey, however, now I've found the one. Very happy bunny :sing:

tetol 14-May-2005 21:23

could have swept the leaves up henners

adam 14-May-2005 21:35

did you get it from Bristol?

Jon 14-May-2005 21:50

Henners I hate to pour cold water on your dreams, But should the lower vents on the side panels be shown has carbon!!!!!!!!!

adam 14-May-2005 21:59

I have a feeling this one came from bristol, its one i looked at quite a while ago, and the dealer couldnt give me an explanation why the vents were red. Did you get the extras with it including the ecu? He had to get these from Ducati as the bike came from japan and came over without Termis, stand ect.

Henners 14-May-2005 22:31

Don\'t worry guys ..

.. she's real.

I think I've seen enough of this thread, and heard enough about 996R's.

Sorry TP, Andy.

I've no doubt she's real Henners, just different. The ohlins forks have a different colour center too:o

In hindsight perhaps I was a bit abrupt - I'm just jealous. I want one - a lot.

Henners 15-May-2005 00:03

Jon\'s right ..

.. imported from Japan however confirmed by DUK. I'm having her dynoed to prove full power. Spent most of her days in a Geisha house apparently. Isn't there something ironic about a Japanese inport that isn't an IL4 ?

Jon also mentioned the lower fairing vents being painted rather than exposed carbonfibre - check out the pictures from the launch report:

As per Dibble's earlier post, I was fortunate enough to pick up Chris Webb's bike , No 315, and what can I say, drop dead gorgeous doesn't even start to do it justice. I started lusting after Ducatis when the Desmo 250 was getting tested against Honda 250 G5s and the like, and when Dave turned up with his original 916 in 1998, I started putting all my shrapnel in a big fcuk-off bottle. After about 6 years I had about £112, so I went for plan b and remortgaged the house.

The bike will be seen circulating in a sedate and dignified (ie slow) manner during a number of southern-based track days!

Henners - she's a beauty and no mistake.

I like your style though, start a thread about how many 996Rs there are in the club and then subtely add yours to the list - choice !!!;)

You're a lucky man and this has only heightened my desire to get another one - best get the staff out trawling the web and small adds..

Tim

:alien:

To be honest Eric I wanted a 996R. It was the compromise deal with another bike I had ordered with my wife.

But I saw this opportunity with the 998R because I knew about it being sold and even though I wanted a 996R (last one of the shape to win WSB and an Aussie rode it as well) this 998 is very special to me. I had a think about it and my wife was keen as well, highly unusual behaviour, so I went for it.

I'm so happy I could cry, in fact I did cry when I first worked out the deal with the owner. Like I say, this particular bike is VERY special to me and I'm so happy that I am the one who is going to have it and treat it like the previous owner did.

It won't be hidden away, it will go on the track as well as the road. And whilst I'm certain I won't be reckless with it I'd like to think I'm still going to open the throttle on it.

COME ON!!!

ericthered40 10-Jul-2005 02:24

I’m sure you will TP I’m sure you will. :saint:
