If you are coming over to Nelly's, I might be able to help out with the panel/tank repairs and paintwork.
Drop me a line if I can help. :(

Damn sorry to hear that fella. Look no further than your tyres. If you were still on the original Michelin Pilot Race they are as slippery as a snake in baby oil when cold.

Whats the news on Borat then??

Might pop down to Oulton on Saturday and have a nosey. Good luck getting it sorted.

Damo.

Borat is fine, his l/hand is pretty mashed cut badly, and v.swollen, r/hand OK bar 2 broken fingers, from what I gather the bike is pretty much OK, slid well over the wet grass so more mud that gravel, maybe I should get one of these 998RS02's.... seems it's going to be cheaper to fix than the R:puzzled:

Ducnow 15-Mar-2005 13:13

Hey jp, didn't you took some pics of the damaged bike?

JPM 15-Mar-2005 13:27

No photo's...

don't really want the memory of it looking bad if I am honest..

Got to take a few photo's tonight for Ripsnorting so he can give me an estimate on the paint etc.

On a plus point though... all the parts should be with me tonight (including the swingarm)... Big up to JHP (as ever) and also BDG for sorting me a clip-on, hopefully I'll pick that up later, also an even bigger big up for Lily who is currently running up and down the country collecting the parts, and will hopefully bump into BDG later

Busy night tonight, just call me spanners!

I understand............ :(

But it's good to know you're putting the bike up again so quickly.
Have you bought a new swingarm :puzzled::o

JPM 15-Mar-2005 14:13

Yup.... new swingarm being collected as we speak, the original is OK but cosmetically looks bad! so ultimately will need replacing, so bought one while I can get one, rather than wait for one to come into the UK

Wow..... i see you're not saving any money to get her like new again. That's nice.
Do you have full insurace coverage? Will the insurance pay for all those damages?

JPM 15-Mar-2005 16:05

If I had put in a claim it would cost me in the long run, and how long would it take for an assessor to come down, check the bike over, report his findings, process the claim, wait for an authorised dealer to have time to complete the work, let alone have all the parts in stock?

Summer would be over by then

Rattler 15-Mar-2005 16:17

You'll have to start using tyre warmers before every road trip!!!

Sorry to hear about the off - now stop being a tw@ ;)

Lily 15-Mar-2005 17:51

Well, back from my 5 1/2 hours travelling the UK in serach of bits for a 999.

Big thanks to John Hacket and BDG for making me cups of coffee..... the M6 can make you very drowsy!

How are the photos doing Shaun ;):frog:

JPM 15-Mar-2005 18:05

Tank sorted now..... :)

Just need race seat unit.....

JPM 15-Mar-2005 23:27

All the broken bits are now on the bike, thanks everyone who's helped get me there in such a short time.

Took a few snaps of the damage which needs repairing, dropped a mail to ripsnorting with these photo's so hopefully he can give me a price and eta to get these sorted, also took a rough snap of the s/arm...

JPM 15-Mar-2005 23:28

JPM 15-Mar-2005 23:28

It hurts my heart to see those pics :(
But the swingarm damage is not that much..... i mean you didn't had to get a new one.
But i understand that need to make her new again ;)
