I've an almost brand new set of spidi leathers for sale. White, blue and black. Pm if you want more info.

Andy Mack 01-Oct-2013 18:14

See on the Hottrax entry forms it says Normal Entry £225. Additional Entry £95.

Whats the £95 for?

To race in another class aswell as DD on the same weekend

Andy Mack 01-Oct-2013 18:29

Do people do that?

Just putting a budget together for the season.

Is the track day that happens before the racing, I was told normally on the Friday night, included in the entry fee?

no, that's extra. I recon about £500 for a weekend, incl petrol tyres and stuff, some are a bit less and some are a bit more. but I try never to work out exactly how much I've spent in case the wife finds out.

Good point Matt, learn to be very evasive and non comittal if the wife ever asks how much this is costing. You can't put a price on living the dream!

bally71 02-Oct-2013 12:39

I never work out how much it costs just in case I find out!!!!

Andy Mack 02-Oct-2013 15:13

I worked it out last night. It was alarming!

coppersaucepipe 02-Oct-2013 19:51

I don't work it out so when the wife asks what this season has cost I can honestly say I don't know.

bally71 02-Oct-2013 22:00

[quote=mat2hew]some do, I'm hoping to at Pembrey...

What class matt?? .. was thinking i might too .. funds permitting

mat2hew 03-Oct-2013 18:29

that would be the

[Parkitt Modern Classics with MJW Digital Art/Formula 400/Maxitwin]

I think we would be in class F400 even if the old Jap 400s are lighter and more powerful :(

I'm expecting my awesomeness will balance things out.

I think a few other DDers have had a go in this class.

Andy Mack 03-Oct-2013 18:31

whats the smallest van you can fit a bike in?

badgerpilot 03-Oct-2013 19:31

One that's got an accessable cavity just a touch wider, higher and longer than your bike. :p

You'll get used to the stupidity and sarcasm in time.

depends how many pieces it's in-
realistically can get bikes in a citroen dispatch/ fiat scudo/ but not great comfort for camping- next up and cheapish is merc vito

having used a dispatch and moved to vw lt35/ merc sprinter hitop mwb have to say for me the extra comfort/ space well worth having- but i do use my van for work and everything else too- got 38mpg citroen /32mpg lt35

if yr ok with spannering and don't mind going slow £800- £1.5k will get you plenty of choices- a mate of mine in s.wales has couple asstd cheap vans to sell at moment

I quite like the transit connect, lwb although I think you can fit it in the swb but you'd have to check...

the benifit of buying a ford is that you will make race meetings rather than breaking down on the way like you would with anything french...

are you going to Pembrey Badger?

or 1 twice the width and half the length if you fold it in half

i wouldn't tempt fate if i was you-
i never had any trouble with my old renault 4 van as long as i kept the elastic band wound properly (apart from a rear radius arm parting with the chassis and it still drove then held on by just the tortion bar)

You don't need a van, it'll go in the back of a car or in the front of a caravan
