not much consolation ali, but only 1 dnf... cadders is your dropped round and there's only 1 race at assen.
So no chance you'll be fit enough to just potter round at cadwell??

I thought it was two rounds as opposed to four races? Better if it's four races.

Off for an xray tomorrow, but the last time I asked (politely!) they said no way, no chance, not on your bloody life. Not a muscle issue, they just think the bones growing so slowly there's a possibility it could snap. :(

Ask Dave Reilly, he waited months before discovering the bone wasn't growing at all.

Ho hum.

Oi Tonio, if you need any help mate, i've got most weekends free until then, would be more than happy to come up adn give a hand with some spanners.

Cheers Weeksy, very appreciated.
But actually my problem is a money problem, not time :D

Starting at Brands I could have dedicated 3 months of my salary to the bike, but starting at Cadwell that's only 2/3 of that small budget...:( and furthermore it adds the Cadwell entry / petrol to go there / etc...

Dibble 01-Feb-2006 00:50

why not vote again, make it best of three ...????

its all quite funny from the outside ....

Tonio, good luck getting the bike ready mate ...

Maxypriest 01-Feb-2006 09:42

I don’t normally get involved with such discussions as the vote has been cast, so we now all have to deal with the line that has been drawn and make it work. However…

C was the option! What were people thinking of!!!!
Non-Point scoring first round for virgin racers is surely the perfect start, It did not affect entries to Assen for us younglings either! And towards the end of the year we could have had 3 race weekend extravaganza/party in Norfolk…

Tut tut tut.

weeksy2 01-Feb-2006 09:46

Maxy,

IN YOUR OPINION... obviously a larger percentage of riders disagree with you.

Maxypriest 01-Feb-2006 09:49

I accept that indeed they do - so i'll be seeing you all at Cadwell!

Cheers mate... Anyway my expectations for this year were to win at least one race. I don't want (and can't afford) to fight for the title.... So if I'm not ready at the end of March, Cadwell will be a DNS for me, that's not a big issue.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

(will you be able to sort the bull**** from the truth in the post above??? :D )

Here speaketh a man of huge intellect and vision! :)

I thought the three race bash at Narfuk would be a classic, but then I'm not a 'racer' so I wouldn't know. These are just track days aren't they???:frog:

all great in theory but the ramifications of blowing up or falling at the first race at snetterton and missing 3 races.?....u might as well say good bye to any championship aspirations.

yeah thats what i may do. i really need the practice before the DD races, but really wanted to do the TA too as its the only one i would have done. i'll see how it goes and if i have the money later in the year i'll do the track attack as well.

Just need to build my end can, paint the number plates YELLOW :( and move the run kill to the other clippon. Oh and put the offset woodruffs in wire it, rebuild the wheels, fit the exhaust, fit the bodywork buy sprockets, sort the brakes do the filter and oil, get a screen.....

OH ****.....

i like this lad......great attitude....:D

ali 01-Feb-2006 18:48

It's easy to be macho sitting in a warm office on a early feb evening, but anyone who says it's not more than touch worrying trying to outbrake someone into the old hairpin (or chasing through the woodland section) in cold wet conditions is a bare faced liar. As you go light over the crest of the last left, standing on the pegs, still on the gas, the absurdly-close tyre wall infront beckons, and the lumpiest curb on the circuit is on the inside of the harpin (although this sounds like it's changed). All in all not what I would pick to kick off the season, but that's what's on the menu this year. Many folk ended up in the kitty litter there last year, wonder who it'll be in 8 weeks time??

Personally I got one of my 3rds at Donny in torrential conditions last year, so I may come out to roll around at the back, get my sigs, and surprise a few folk......:ninja:

2 rounds/signatures before Assen??

Don't forget that the DD series started in 2005, therefore most of you already qualify for Assen. The only people who may have a problem are the absolute novices who will need to do both rounds and get signatures.

Not strictly true John, ACU school days are acccepted too.

They could do the NGRRC day or BEMSEE days and only 1 of the DD days ?

There was a little bit of that at the beginning of last season, but it was quickly stamped out!

By Brands we were diving into Surtees three abreast leaning on each others fairings.:o I love it, but I did manage to overcook it twice last season with predictable results. My only big off was on a TD, with no one around, in the dry, on about my 140th lap in two days, on a track I know pretty well now....:puzzled: I can be spectacularly dim sometimes!

I hope everyone has a great season and we have a lot less trauma than last year, but it's racing and the red mist does like to turn up at the most inappropriate times.....

John

You sure John?

From email... However they have made the stipulation that anyone who intends to go to Assen should compete in two rounds of the series this season prior to going.

Was that a typo then?

Monty - can you clear this up for us, as I also read it that everyone HAS to do 2 rounds this year prior to Assen, as there is no mention of 2005 in your email.

Cheers

C:)

dickieducati 02-Feb-2006 09:39

this season is this season surely. no grey area.

weeksy2 02-Feb-2006 09:43

from reading between the lines of Johns (montys) comments, it's basically a restriction that Non-novice riders are allowed to race there and you must have 2 signatures on your license.

Be they from this year, last year or the years before (within ACU boundaries) then you should be OK.... ?

dickieducati 02-Feb-2006 09:53

2 rounds prior to assen this season. its simple. why all the debate?

NOT since the series started
NOT acu test days
NOT last year
NOT anything else.

Thats how we read it Dickie:)

Hence me querying Monty's comment:)
