I saw Van Halen at Donington MOR 1983 i think with Dave lee Roth.During one song someone threw a bottle on stage .Roth stopped the band mid song and uttered"Man i saw who threw that and i,m going to come down there and fcuk your girlfriend"....at which the band cracked back into action.Very amusing. |
Yes I remember that it was 1984. AC/DC were the last band after Van Halen. I still have the programme for that somewhere. |
First gig and best ;The Clash at Peterborough Wirrina '78 (Safe European Tour) Most disapointing;Cher at Wembly Arena 1990-ish,too many costume changes and refused to sing the old stuff. Loudest;David Lee Roth at the old Mallard Park Hotel Peterborough. |

blimey i was there as well  |
I remember Gary Moore, then Ozzy teetering round on a wet stage because his roadies kept tipping buckets of water over him,Van Halen and then AC/DC,most of which i missed due to chasing a lady, unsuccessfully of course. Went on a 400 Superdream pushing my mate faster on his C90 with my hand.He fell of later on going through a hedge and into a ditch where the C90 was left to die peacefully till this day Good day out that:roll: |
First was Gary Newman at Guilford civic hall 1978 Best was Ian Brown at Clandon Park, watching from the wings  |
My first one was The Bluetones, Norwich UEA, 1996 Best one was Radiohead on their Kid A tour in Newport in the big tent. I was about 6 from the front and sigur ros supported. :) Worst one was Dream Theater at Norwich UEA. I went to see the support band (Porcupine Tree), but left a song into Dream theater's set. You should never let *ANYONE* finger tap a bass guitar. That's just wrong. |
FIRST - Michael Jackson about 1991 ish at Roundhay park. The day I saw him it was his Birthday and part way through a track the crowd (100,000 plus) starting signing happy birthday, the stage dropped quiet ... sounds corny but the atmosphere was unbelievable. BEST - Mmmm tough one. either first time I saw U2 in London about 2001 or Robby at Knebworth 2003. |
1st gig..Big Country supported by the Wonder Stuff at Exeter Uni about 84 or 85.. Best gig..Any of Pop Will Eat Itself's gigs...sweaty.. |
Rush - 1979 !!!! Hammersmith - Hemispheres Tour (I think!!!) ;) |
Ist concert was The Specials in Coventry, that was in 78. Don't recall too much about that- "too much drinking on the dance floor!" Best concert... Led Zepplin( vaguely recall, I only went cus Robert Plant was a Wolves fan!) Pink Floyd at the Docklands in 91( pink pig) mind blowing! Someone mentioned Status Quo, Still the business. Bowie, on his serious moonlight tour 1982, superb. Love to see the Stones. And I should of gone to see The Jam. |
