Received by email to the webteam: Sir I have read the forum with regard to the death of the two motorcyclists and two seriously injured on the A272 Midhurst on Sunday morning (18/06/06). I was a member of the emergency services that attended the crash. It was in my 27 years experience one of the worst that I have attended. I am not a motorcyclist, and do not wish to register on your site, but I do want to appeal to all motorcyclists, especially on the A272 to please reduce your speed and remember, the double white lines are there for a reason. |
Again, I would like to thank all of those who have posted their support and concern over this tragedy. I am grateful, and have drawn strength from all your good wishes. Your messages of support will be passed on to the families of my friends. Thank you all. I would also again like to thank the emergency services for the professionalism and skill that they displayed in dealing with accident. The circumstances of how it came to happen are being investigated - the full story is not yet known. Whilst I agree and echo the advice given by the member of the emergency services whose email is posted above, I would suggest that no conclusions may yet be drawn, not until all the facts of the matter have come to light. Thanks again. |
Loz, any update on your mate on the Duc? We have just had an e-mail in from a guy (Lez) from the Goldwing club asking after the rider. Unfortunately he did not leave his e-mail address sent a PM as an unregistered user, - perhaps he will see this message. His news on the poor lady pillion: We r friends of Paul & Wendy the Goldwing riders in the above accident, thought you may like to know that Wendy has had several operations on a severely broken leg and pelvis, however she is now out of the high dependency ward but still in hospital albeit making slow but steady progress, |
only just seen this as i have been away. so sorry for all those involved truely saddening. |
No more news regarding the cause of the accident in the local paper this week however warning signs are being put up asking motorists to slow down and a safety review of the whole A272 is about to be undertaken. It beggers belief that two motorcyclists should colide at 6.30am on a summers Sunday morning :( |
