Just the same spec as ours then:D :D :D :D

You naughty girl, well done getting on another bike Ruth, enjoy.

JPM calls his Quasimodo, but i'm sure you'll come up with a better name than that:lol:

That's what I call you deaf lugs!

Redruth 08-Sep-2006 16:32

Oy you bunch of buzzards (Jools, Chass), I'm not selling the Monster. I need her for winter riding, for non-aerodynamic, fully laden panier type trips and for those 'it's a cr@ppy day but I still prefer to be on a bike than in the car' days :)

Ozz, I didn't realise you haven't even got one yet! What's keeping you? As a woman of limited means and even more limited willpower, I can't see what's keeping you?

And yes, Shaun, I shall come up with a better name than that. Esmerelda, maybe?

Dave, I think it's more a case of them keeping me happy, don't you? Besides, the Duchess will be going into semi-retirement. Her status as a stunning bit of kit will be returned to her and then I'll take her out and show her off from time to time, which is how she spent the first two years of her life with me and didn't seem to mind. At least in those two years no-one tutted over her or told me what a disgrace she was, which is what she's had to put up with since I've been a member of this club

ricco749s 08-Sep-2006 16:58

Ruth - glad youv'e seen the light - the only draw back is that you'll now have to endure the constant negative vibes from those that still prefer the now 'getting a little dated looking' previous model in its various forms! Stick a power commander on it and it will be even sweeter - mine was the best all round (and I use those 2 additional words with care) Ducati of the 10 Ducatis I've now owned including my current 999r....

Chaz 08-Sep-2006 17:00

Don't want to buy it was thinking you could race it, we could do with some girlyeeees around the paddock.:D :D

You'll be getting girlies next year, the lovely Lucy is still in, isn't she? And Kelly and I believe there's another Ruth thinking of racing. Is that Dom Clegg's girlfriend? Besides, I don't think I could have been around the paddock much more than I was this year as a fan ;) and I shall be again next year, but I'll be arriving on a shiny 749S instead of the Monster.

Ozz 08-Sep-2006 17:18

Ruth I was planning on one this year but with: a Wife, 2 kids, a house move (hopefully) and now buying a share in an office building for my business money is shall we say tight. But you never know....

Redruth 08-Sep-2006 17:21

I suppose that's the downside of being an accountant, Ozz. You are obliged to take account of everything. I, on the other hand, don't bother to do the maths, don't have a wife (although one would be quite handy as I have a pile of ironing upstairs that needs attention) have already moved house and my daughters are grown up.

Shaun, I agree with you about the Duchess but my latest love affair began with a bang at Cadwell when I experienced the black one and I've never taken much notice of negative vibes so I don't expect they'll bother me now

Fordie 08-Sep-2006 17:34

Well done Ruth, Ill have to get used to looking at a differant rear end now shame just got used to the first one  4D

Redruth 08-Sep-2006 17:39

Fordie, you know as well as I do, you never look at my rear end. I always look at yours though ;) Is there a 3rd Sunday of the month rideout in September? I'm going out on the Duchess on Sunday with the boys but I'll have the new bike on the 14th and I'm itching to show her off :)

Enjoy the new toy, I've always liked the bike .... just think you need to get them out of the showroom and in to the real world. This shows them off at their best.

As for the Track fairings. Agree with JPM. I have the QB red set that are pre impregnated with the red .... no scratches to worry about :) Their fairing without the light cut outs will actually go over the headlights without having to take them off. All I do is take the fuse out of the low beam to stop it melting the fairing. I posted some pic's of my 749r in the QB track fairings. They will do gloss balck as well.

oh come on now thats unfair. Yellow is great not least because everyone else has red !!

I wish I hadnt read this post. Am up here in Glasgow spending a week running roon the heelands. But on Tuesday I went to see Martin at Ducati Glasgow, and he was tempting me with an S2R, with black wheels. It was calling me, his assistant Kerry was flattering me by asking if I would like to model some clothes for ther catalogue...................................the pause is to let those who know me get up of the floor and stop laughing, and all the time I am thinking, I can't have 3 bikes, I can't have 3 bikes. Then this post. You can have 3 bikes, you can have 3 bikes. Its just too much......!!!!!

Have fun on the new baby

KeefyB 08-Sep-2006 18:47

If you look closely, you'll find people in this club with even more than the three bikes. I think three is the statuory minimum, actually ;)

No, but I think Ducati should offer me a job. I could sell these things, well not my own obviously, but other peoples :)

Chris Wood 08-Sep-2006 20:33

Well done Ruth,

The plan is all coming together......what next Phillip Island???

Nice one!

Redruth 08-Sep-2006 22:52

Hi Chris,

How are you feeling? As you can probably tell, I'm very pleased with my new purchase. I didn't even have time to get a picture and make the collage of all the things I want. It all happened very quickly, which is probably exactly how the Phillip Island arrangements will go. I have my scout, Lizzie, making enquiries for me whilst she's out there with Mike enjoying the MotoGP next weekend. :)

andys 900ss 08-Sep-2006 23:25

Congratulations Ruth,

I like the the 'new shape' bike so much my 900ssie tries to look like one. I'd love one, but have enough in the garage as it is. Impulse buying, then worry about paying for it, thats usually me. Life is for living, eh..

Andy

Redruth 09-Sep-2006 09:55

Charlotte doesn't need any encouragement from me. She's her own woman. Still, might have a little word in her shell-like just in case

kwikbitch 09-Sep-2006 15:14

Wow...Knew it wouldn't be long before you could resist...The intrigue about them is too much to bare and once you've ridden it then you're hooked.

The gloss really brings out the metalic in the "satin" version and the bikes look stunning. You just having black gloss or the satin colour laquered Ruth?

I'm gonna get track fairings after having the off at Caddie (waiting for racetech to get the mould sorted) but eventually I want my satin fairings laquered :)

Congratulations & Welcome to the testrastretta club me duck, it's the new iconic Ducati IMHO :)

domski 09-Sep-2006 15:39

I always thought the 749 was a girls bike
