Does anyone have some directions to the base or is it a secret;)

As always please don't ride through Benson village (BP roundabout) instead use clack's lane from the Crowmarsh Gifford roundabout.

I'll be heading past Andover on the morning, though with the bike on the trailer. If you have any extra kit that you don't want to carry on the bike then let me know and I can grab it on the way past.

If you or anyone else are concerned about getting in or having hassle on the day then drop me a PM for my mobile number, as I have the required credentials to be able to sign people in on the day.

People may or may not be aware that it is also the RAF Odiham ARD the following Sat, about 20 places when I checked last Wed. Info is on the OMCC website www.omcc.co.uk - please note that this is a quite day (98db) and they will be checking!

See those that are going at Benson

Andy

Bradders,

I see your post on the OMCC site. The only other contact details I have for John is the OMCC admin hotmail account : omcc@hotmail.co.uk
I have used this address and got a response within 24hrs.

Cheers,

Andy

ENGAKATS 25-Aug-2009 20:59

Unfortunately I won't make it on Saturday.

The bike is still in the workshop and was supposed to be ready by now. I got a call today saying that it won't be ready untill Wednesday next week.:(:mad::mad:

I am still 'unsure of her in doors' plans for me but if I can make it I will be a spectator.

Having seen that there are other RAF sites doing the same that may be something to work on for next year. Apparently Hullavington and Abingdon do this and I believe Chertsey may also be adding therir track to the list!:D

Yes, long way to come for 2 flying laps in the first session! Was in the fast group and managed to get about 100m off the track on a 100mph+ left hander. He looked fine and was straight on his feet, bike not so good - left hand clip-on, rear set and quite a lot of carbon mangled. Hopefully nothing more permanent than a few bumps and bruises. According to one of the guys I know marshalling, he got off line and couldn't get it stopped, despite quite an impressive rolling stoppie!

deej 29-Aug-2009 21:54

oh dear, didnt realise it was so early into the day,hes spent two weeks prepping it for 2 laps. will give us something to laugh about on swb,im sure he'll be pleased with the rolling stoppie comment

Ahh yes I saw that, was'nt there two down in that left hander ? I was more concerned at dodging the marshal running straight across the track and the rest of them parking up at the side of that left hander. Shame as it was literaly 2nd or 3rd lap of the day. Glad he's ok.

I really enjoyed my first visit to Benson. I thought the circuit layout was really good. Apart from the landing lights...Bradders.
748R once again was brilliant never missed a beat.
As for the rest of the day. Great company and plenty of laughs were had by all.
Shower, beer and bed..great end to the day.

Clint.

Dukeman358 30-Aug-2009 11:44

we werent racing tho ;)

yep, fully leant over and flat in 3rd, hitting a runway light which lifts the front wheel off is not recomended!! thankfully happend so quick, and the bike sorted itself, that I didnt have time to react...phew!
