For Clarification on the 2011 Rules, it is as simple as (others have said): Loss of Orange Vest: Clubman competitors are required to wear an Orange Vest obtainable from the ACU Licence Department until they have 10 signatures on their record card from 3 diff erent circuits. To obtain a signature competitors must appear in the offi cial race results as a fi nisher of a race in accordance with Article 12.3.3. Th e competitors record card must be countersigned by the Secretary of the Meeting. Only one signature per day of competition is permitted. Clubman to National: Clubman competitors, including sidecar passengers, may apply to be upgraded to a National Licence aft er having competed at, and obtained signatures for, a minimum of 10 separate Race Days at 3 diff erent circuits during the current year and preceding 2 years. Th e competitor record card together with copies of the offi cial result sheets pertaining to the signatures on the record card should be submitted to the ACU Road Race Department. Only one signature per day of competition is permitted. National to International: National licences holders who have held their National Licence for 12 months and who have competed at a minimum of 6 meetings in the previous 12 months may apply for an FIM Non-Championship International licence. Th e Competitor record card and/or copies of result sheets should be submitted to the ACU Road Race Department. A satisfactory medical examination is required before an FIM Non-Championship International licence can be issued (Eye Sight and Medical Report sections of the ACU Competition Licence Application Form). ....so in theory, if I compete in 6 meetings this year I could apply for an International licence at the end of the year?!!! |

Then you would not be able to race in DD I belive. lol go for it Craig |
I have just bought a 600SS to convert to a racer and hope to do 2 or 3 races this year, just to get a feel for it as I have never raced before. Does this mean I would not be eligible for any championship next year? |
No, you would still be eligible for the the class B championship. Thats the one to go for really...........:) |

Neal. Just one thought on the Novice championship. I think the points scoring should be different to the main championship. It always seemed daft to me that just by finishing most races you score 12+points. It might be worth restructuring to 10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 or something similar? Just a thought. |

Just when I thought I had it sorted and ready to post on here!! |

Almost ready to post up the results so far. I'm just awaiting authorisation (opinion)from the relevant regulatory authority(Kev). |
Check the first post. I've finally managed to sort out the results table. |
A couple more entrants and there'll be a battle for 9th place in the races! |
That is what it is all about... keep the interest up throughout the field. Top Job Neal. Let me know if you need any help with it. |
go Phil!! another 2 rounds when the money is mine I'll start helping him ;) |
I was actually going to opt out as I thought it was based on championship points and that I would be a bit hard to catch. However, after looking at the board I am now chowing down on a particularly tasty slice of humble pie! Due to my overdeveloped competition node in my brain there is absolutely no chance that I will opt out now Im in 2nd! It is a shame that a lot of this years novices have not been able to make it to many rounds. Perhaps it would be better that for the novice championship the winner is based on 4 dropped races rather than 2? Looking at the board there is already quite a gap so if it was based on 4 dropped then everyone that has scored so far would only be seperated by 4 points, which is a relatively level starting point and this might encorage others to be at more rounds? (Sorry I am saying "them", there are lots of folk I havent properly met in the paddock yet). |

 looks like it is lucky number 9th! |

Leave it as is - reward where reward is due ;) Go The Dentist!!!!!! :biaggi: :burn: |
its a little closer with this points system. M |

You might be right, think I might have to stay for the Sunday races and see if I cant part you from the big cup. :p Also Phil will be 2 points off me rather than 4 with 2 dropped. So if anything it should be something you would approve, no? The table has only just been started really so wouldnt it be better to get as many peeps level as possible? It is clearly only a disadvantage to me... I am trying to get everyone on the board interested. |
I have "stickied" this thread so it stays at the top. |

some competition would be nice :p  mind you those long straights at Snett will be interesting, I'll have to get down the wind tunnel next week!! you'll be needing those bling brakes of yours to get past me if I manage to keep everything together ;) coz I wont be braking!!! Is it worth a new thread just with the table and approriate title that only Neal/WT can amend? |
Quote:
Bling brake.....singlular! Judging from the result of my out-breaking move at Anglesey perhaps I would be better sticking with going round the outside on the fast corners, which is where 99% of my passes have been this season. Oh, and you have to overtake me more than once and actually make it stick for me to consider you competition :frog: Now theres fighting talk! Roll on Snet |

Happy with that if Neal wants to create a new post with the points tables in it and some info/rules about the championship - I'll sticky that one instead. |

you did me on the straights....Qually is where its at big man....and we'll all be following Ron!! |

Usually do my own thing in Qually, but you are welcome to follow me when I come by mate ;) |

I'll do just that ;) you there Fri or what?! |
:saint: Quote:
I have booked to go but then I also booked and paid for Brands, Mallory and Anglesey and of those I only made 1 sesson of the Brands practice, so no guarantees! However, from the forum banter it seems like there are some peeps who are going to be trying very hard, so probably best I know my way round so I can get off the racing line when they lap me! :saint: It looks like quite a fast track so hope that no one pushes too hard and runs of of talent (yes, like I did) cause its gonna hurt. |

No a Bunji (or is that bungee) dangling from the seat unit will do Ron :) |

Maybe 'catch me' would be more appropriate ;) |
"Stay There" ?!! |

Congratulations to this years Novice Championship winner Phil Daravulla. Looks like it was the year of the Phil's in B class!! |
Well, I've always wanted to have a go at bike racing and was lucky enough to get the chance this year.It was into the unknown at the beginning of the year, everyone has been so kind and helpful especially when you don't know the ropes. Definitely a steep learning curve from normal riding, I think there is no better place to start, as someone is always willing to find the solution to any problems you have, it is a close knit DD family. Really well organized at all the different tracks by the race committee and Trudi keeping us all in order. It has been a really great season for sure and the icing on the cake was winning the Novice Championship - thanks to Neil for organising it , can't wait till next season. I'd really like to thank my wife Liz for being so patient and supportive also Bradders for his words of wisdom and sharing with us. More fun with my fellow competitors next year :D Phil |
1 Attachment(s) Congratulations Phil, and well done to Liz for keeping up with the wine consumption  Pic by Craig |
Well done Phil, fast on the road and getting faster on the track, still more to come so I'll be expecting to see more from you in 2012, Bradders has shown you what is possible |
Looks like there will be a few more Novices this season (2012) |
