Job done, im tempted to keep my cards close to my chest, but a taster of a piccie.... |
andyb Perhaps you could pass on info to Mike Stanley,he's got a problem with throttle action, resulting in the writing off of a two week old Fila rep!! |
I fitted 998 domino twistgrip & single 998 cable, but changed it back as it was too sensitive for me.if anyone wants it for £40 &p/p give me a ring on 07860 205804 Steve p |
too sensative for you and the whole 996/ 998 range, i think not....... Dont forget what youve "upgraded" to, is std on the other shape!! |
oh and if u used the std 996/8 throttle cable , itll be too short.!! perhaps thats harf yer problem??? |
not too short if you route it in front of headstock instead ofbehind steve p |
Ok, but dont know if i like the idea of that? |
Sorry to drag this up again but just to say that I'm dropping mine off at ProTwins tomorrow to have the single cable mod done in time for TA3. Should be interesting... |
Had mine done last weekend at Pro V’s, it’s so good to be able to get full throttle in one twist instead of having to take two handfuls, the spring tension is quite a bit more than the standard throttle but at least I’ve lost that vague feeling, all in all very nice indeed. Also had the suspension setup and new Carbone Lorraine front pads fitted, what a difference, it feels like a new bike. Can’t wait for the rock this week. Oh nearly forgot, had a slipper clutch fitted as well. Don’t you just love these money pits called Ducati’s:( Throttle mod £200.00 Supplied and fitted Murray Mint [Edited on 6-9-2004 by Murray Mint] |
Wow....£200! It'll be good to compare yours to mine, and have a look at what theyve done. See you at Rockingham. |
Come on Andy..... let on mate ..... what did you go for.... how much dosh ?? |
998 throttle and housing. modified cable, job done! 65 degrees of movement instead of 95! |
£40. |
How much !!! Bit steep andy  Can i book mine in now !! Come on mate.... Who When and How..... Please Please Please :( |
me, me ,me...... |
I can understand some of the above costs as you need to get inside the airbox. Tricky little sucker means removing quite a lot of stuff, hence several hours cost! |
did you not see my post ..........? i thought i wrote it clear enough!!:P:P takes about 1 hour to do , longer if you ve still got the front middle retainer screw in the air box |
Sorry.... Blind as a bat me  |
Well, I got it back on Thurday in time to ride up to TA3. I'd say it was definitely worth doing. Right up there with the Termi exhaust & vented clutch cover ;) The whole throttle application is much more precise not to mention actually getting full throttle on a single handfull... not that I got to use full throttle on a damp Rockingham though :rolleye: |
