See these guys... if you like your Hendrix,ZZ top or good rock and blues, these geezers are the kippers tits, lost count of the number of times i have seen them...http://www.thehamsters.co.uk/main.php |
Not really into that stuff, but i've been forced to listen to Led Zepplin(by the missus),must admit i would have loved to see them live! |
Amonst many others I got to see Led Zep at Earls Court when I were a lad, also saw Deep Purple at Lewisham Odeon! All seems a long time ago now!! :) |
Grew up on Whitesnake, Ready an Willing Tour, Gillan at Derby Assembly Rooms and Nottm Rock City, Motorhead on the Bomber tour, too many Donington Monsters Of Rock gigs to remember and of course Motley Crue, Van Halen, Poison, Slaugher, Extreme, then Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains etc....... I saw Richie Kotzen at Music Live at the NEC the other week (same weekend as the bike show!) and he was superb, check out his last CD 'Get Up' its very Hendrix with Chris Cornell vocals ! If you like you're heavy rock traditional a la Rainbow, Purple etc check out Cornerstone with Dougie White on vocals (ex rainbow), its very circles and rings, dragons and kings but Kasper is great on guitar, met him in Sheffield the other weekend playing guitar for Mike Tramp, all Mike's recent solo stuff is worth a listen, especially if you were a White Lion fan. If you don't fancy any of that stuff have a listen to one of our tracks Music Everyhere its a bit more funky..... |

Very true, Sheehan and Entwistle are good. But turn the old soundcard up and listen to THIS if you want to hear a bass maestro. It's Jeff Berlin, one of my favourite all time bass players. A bit too jazzy for this listing, but he has played and jammed along live on stage with the likes of Van Halen - hey, when you can play like this you can play anything. I like Heavy Rock, but more of the old school Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Sabbath type stuff that were big when I were a lad. Lucky enough to have seen em all live. Funnily enough though the two LOUDEST bands I've ever seen were Wishbone Ash who came a close second to XTC. Several orders of magnitude louder than any metal band I've seen :o |
It would have to be Jack Bruce for me, Cream ............those were the days:) |
Had a bit of bonfire this morning. AHHHHHHHHH What a box set.:o |
for loud, go see JET or THE DATSUNS both young bands in a pretty traditional style, both blew my head off this year (Datsuns could've been last year actually)....superb !! You know what they say 'If its too loud you're a c**t !' |
certainly do |
Jools - pretty cool matey...but a bit too jazzy for me and a bit too maestro centric i.e. the band built round him. I'm up for the individualists who make a bit of a noise together and Billy does it for me - takes your fillings out. Get hold of Mr.Big's version of 'Burn' - Billy plays the Keyboard solo - ON THE BASS - it is awesome.... love the guy and he's mental. http://www.billysheehan.com/ Pick the Audio bit and scroll down... Blows me away... FD [Edited on 6-12-2004 by fatduke11111] |
