Better than damaging a perfectly good torque wrench by using to undo nuts :o

NBs996 25-Feb-2005 23:22

that's how my torque wrench got buggered up.

note to self: never loan out precision instruments!

andyb 25-Feb-2005 23:32

My 230 torque wrench works both left and right handed! As the torque of this particular nut is at most 185 the wrench is working well within its capability.
However i do concur that it is not necesarily good practice to be used on a daily occurance, but how often are you really doing this?

yeehah, get um up, ride em home rawhide...........

Why not use a breaker bar, or even a piece of scaffold pole/old fork stanchion rather than knacker up a torque wrench?
