preference would be to do own travel/accomm etc and make it a few weeks with CSS towards end of first week...

For the US schedule and pricing just follow the link on the CSS UK site. I will also try and find some info on the hotel and car hire that I used.

I would also recomend taking your own kit, you will be much more comfortable. I did this a couple of years ago, just get a bit kit bag and you will be fine

ES... anything else you can recommend with this?

A few trips.
The most important is do it. Laguna is an awesome track :)

Tips

Check flights to San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose as they are all fairly close together. So you can fly into any of them

You are probably going to need to drive. It's cheaper to sort the hire car out in the UK (on the web) as they will include the insurance

Spend a couple of days in San Francisco is you can it's a great city.

Take you own gear, and travel light with rest of your stuff

hmmm $1200 for the two days at current exchange rate... is say £700??

got to be worth booking at that price!!

actually closer to 630 now i have checked...!:o

ES

we were in SF last year and enjoyed it. Freak has been to Laguna to watch before, but not track day so should be ok.

What are the bikes like? I don't have much experience on IL4 (not much experience full stop tbh) so that is probably my biggest apprehension about doing it.

How much extra for flights, accomodation and a hire car?

I would LOVE to do Laguna Seca!

Riding a small inline 4 is a bit like tap-dancing with a bunch of angry wasps buzzing around your head :D

 :P

Flight vary, but I would guess between £500 and £600
I have never paid over £600 London to San Francisco. About £30 per day for pre booked hire car.
I would budget $80 to $100 per night for hotels in monterey and $100 to $150 per night for hotels in San Francisco.
The hotel rate is for the room, so much cheaper if you are sharing. Food is cheap

Another tip, use US websites to find hotels, then book direct with the hotel it's much cheaper

Early December should be low season, so there may be some good deals around

Flights can be as little £300, The most I have paid from LHR to SFO is £329. Same as all flights, the earlier you book the cheaper it is... I'm keen to do this one too as the circuit would have been tweaked.

As Kenny Pryde from Superbike said of Laguna's Corkscrew:

"If you think I'm riding down there, you are very much mistaken!"
:bouncy:

Make sure you take a couple of extra pair of underwear as you'll need them after the first couple of times through the cork screw. I know I did.
