I'd pick the 7R too, great front end, very planted (see what I did there dseered  ). Not much less toe than the 9R but better handling. I've got a soft spot for the greenie's though ... Having said that, you are considering some fairly different bikes there. A monster in the same class as a ZX7R and ZX9R? Hrmm .... I think if you figure out what you want to do with the bike first, the rest will follow. (Yoda_mode!) |
Just mentioned the monster as i thought it looked all sad and lonely in the corner of the showroom :( it did tempt me a bit but if it had been a 620 then it definitely was an option i am warming towards the 7R the mileage is the winner for me i think and its immaculate Oh and i owe you a Donut :D if you come to the sussex meet i'll bring a bag along and share them out  thats if i'll be allowed in if im riding a bike from the darkside :rolleye: [Edited on 10-6-2005 by Nigel C] |
I cant believe that anyone would serioulsy think about an M600 in the same company as the other bikes you mention! Cracking bikes but 50hp compared to 140 odd for the 9R - not really in the same league. |

Oh I dunno Paul, I went around the outside of a ZX9R at Clearways at Brands on the monster :D Nigel, not sure about the Sussex meet mate - when's the next one? I'll be at Charlotte's tomorrow at some point though ... |
True perhaps in the corners Tony, just look at what WJB and pals get up to on their CB5's |

maybe not but its still a ducati of sorts and i almost felt sorry for it  |
They are kind of cute and cuddly! |
Whatever you choose....... .........you're one of the stalwarts of the Sussex region Nigel, how could you possibly think you wouldn't be welcome!! Just make sure you park the Zed outside Cissbury Leathers tho ok  |
Sorry to hear this Nige ... ... you were one of the first people I met when I joined the DSC and you've always been a great supporter of the local meets. You and your yellow 748 and roof helmet are almost club mascots in Sussex/Surrey/Hants you're that special to us. If they forgave me the transgressions of a VFR750 and a MV then you have nothing to worry about ;) Make a wise choice as TP says ... buy the bike for what you need it to do if it's to be more than a play thing. Hope to see you soon and if you ever get the need to feel what a Ducati is like to ride again just shout - you can take mine out anytime. All the best :) |
Sorry to hear of your dilema Nigel, I hope you get the bike that suits your needs etc etc etc, But long term I know you will want another Duke and someday you will get another..............I did. Good luck mate. Bob.G |
