If there were to be 2 classes why does the split have to be 583 and 675/620,why not 583/675 and 620. To make the 675's competative would cost well over £700 and (for something that nobody can quantify for definate, remember the BB saga) and for that money you can drop in a 620 lump. For what its worth i voted for 1 class ,the same as this year. Butch |
How about 2 classes... 583 + 620 (how it should have been from the start IMHO) ...all the 675 boys can use the £500 they'll save on not using wets, to turn their bikes bike to 583's. ;) [Edited on 18-8-2005 by domski] |
Who cares :frog: DD racer # actually not a DD racer |

Why not 583/675 and 620 Because the extra 16% (92cc) increase certainly offers the BB bikes an advantage over standard. They are also bikes that owners have decide to throw a bit of extra money at, Doms right if the 675 can't compete with the 620s the kits should have been left on the shelf. Only one class is going to be restrictive, it would push everbody towards 620s and also restrict entries, 32 max at Mallory, Cadwell Woodlands is 28 max and 38 on the full cct, Pembrey is 36, Brands Indy is 38, most the others are 40. Maybe 38 entries is all we want then avoid a couple of circuits and we will be OK. Maybe I'm just hoping for to much when I would like to see more than 38 DSC members getting the oppotunity to race in an affordable yet competive class. |
Also, if you make it 583 v 675/620 you are forcing the BB riders to spend extra money to compete on a 'more' level playing field. Either way the BB riders lose out!! |
Why not make it just 583 cc then we can all sell our BB kits and 620s, then buy a cheap 583 and pocket the money that we save. |
sounds good to me Geoff;) - we've got 2 carbie engines - just one happens to have a BB kit on it, and the other is more knackered than that one!:o I was hoping for 2 grids - then you could ride in both!;) C:saint: |

Do you really think somebody is gonna buy our 620? Maybe yours, because it looks nice, but mine without any road parts I'm sure I'll have to keep it for life :( So no please, keep a 620 class... just for me :D |

Because DUK would obviously like to see their current offering out on the track and have someone like you prove how good a bike it is and how much better it is than the model it replaced. |
