"nice biggish road with no houses near road etc." but it was a 30 limit?

I was tempted to go off on singing, "Your once, twice, three times..................." but ill resist, we dont know if this last one was a camera van yet!

My advise would be, Where ever there are posted limits 30.40.50.......even 60, you really need to keep to those post to post. In fact its quite a discipline to do it. In between, i wouldnt say GLF, but ride the road!
:o

If you rode the road outside of the posted limits to, dare i say an advanced standard, you would be glad of the posted limits to provide a little restbite. Im not saying your guard is dropped here, more that things are easier at a lower speed.

Before anyone goes off on one, i wouldnt even begin to try to try to lecture you. Those that understand me (difficult i know) will know where im coming from here.

If you do find yourself sitting on 9 points its got to be worth a try?

Yeah it was a 30 i was just trying to say it sohuldn't be but it is. One of those roads where everyone does 40 etc.

I do stick to limits up to 50 always. I know what your saying the law is the law etc.

Just fed up of these vans waiting to pounce, and there being no coppers around when you get taken out nearly every day by someone driving badly.

Like you say we will wait and see...............

"Just fed up of these vans waiting to pounce, and there being no coppers around when you get taken out nearly every day by someone driving badly."

Again not wishing to preech, but YOUR destiny is in YOUR hands!
Whilst planning for the speed limits, you should also be planning for all eventualities, including as you say those who are driving badly.

Complicated stuff this driving malarky.......no wonder they restrict the speed we do it at!

:lol::lol:

have you not read mcn? the powers what be have not tested any speed cameras on bike, all it will take is one biker to take it to crown court and at will open up the flood gates and will cost the powers that be allot of money,
so I will be surprise if there will take a risk with you till whey have sorted it all out,
I have know at least two bikers not to get done in the last three weeks,
I might be wrong, and I wont test my luck but I hope I, m right for you sake.
good luck,
:flame::burn::burn:

Hmmmm ok, I think my destiny it out of my hands when some twit takes me out whilst on their phone.

Im a safe and observant rider you only have to go to work during rush hour to see how many people in cars are half asleep in the morning. This in my eye is way more dangerous than me breaking the speed limit.

In other words its easier to catch people speeding than for carless/dangerous driving:(:(

"Hmmmm ok, I think my destiny it out of my hands when some twit takes me out whilst on their phone."

Im saying theres lots YOU can do to prevent any interaction between you and a twit.....observation, position, speed and so on.

"Im a safe and observant rider you only have to go to work during rush hour to see how many people in cars are half asleep in the morning. This in my eye is way more dangerous than me breaking the speed limit."

How am i expected to see when i travelling to work, im half asleep!

50+ in a posted 30 limit, safe?..................where did you say that camera van was again, observant?

"In other words its easier to catch people speeding than for carless/dangerous driving"

Er, in a word, yes!

Sorry, im playing a bit with you. The speed limits are there for the time being, whatever arguements we want to put up. I have learnt to stick to them.

I hate having to agree with a copper ;) but I'm with Andy on this, I "try" to stick to all the signed limits, but when I see that white circle with the black diagonal line I do GLF!!! Funny another copper told me that acronym too :lol:

Lee1980 10-Nov-2005 15:35
