it's not the speed they need to control.
I'm sure people will hurt you at legal speeds, it's the ******** drivers who are dangerous and inconsiderate, sadly that kind of controlling technology is not yet with us.

The real problem with this sort of control is that it removes your ability to react to any given situation and will end up causing more accidents and deaths

Just imagine part way through a turn, leant over, big brother puts the brakes on your bike stands up, runs wide and you end up hitting a wall or on coming traffic, great solution you certainly wont be speeding after that.

It's being developed by the same Leeds University lab who did a similar thing with a a car a few years ago. With the car they put the brakes on, with the bike they are reducing the fuel to slow it down-so no sudden application of brakes half way round a corner. So, into 30 at 60, whip the clutch in and coast through at virtually undiminished speed, pass the deristriction sign's, clutch out and off we go.
It will only work on a fuel injected bike though so I see a great future for old bikes with carburetters.

Big brother is getting even more hi-tech with the news that the government is testing bikes that can be automatically slowed by satellite intervention. Looks like there will soon be a new weapon in the anti-speeding war.

:flame:

Let's just hope it's made by the same company that makes the ankle tags for parolees. Seems the tags aren't tracked if you stick your leg in a cast iron bath.

Bit difficult to burgle a house with a cast iron bath around your leg:puzzled:
