I read the word McAfee up there and immediately got a cold chill down my back. McAfee? Never again. |

nah Tony. It's BT Broadband. I uninstalled their software and modem and used the setup CD again. It cleared it up until about an hour ago. Now it's almost as bad again :( I hate computers!!!!!! |
They're all bastids! I had the telewest guy ask me to install this crap on my laptop and I laughed at him. I tried to explain to him that all I wanted was IP connectivity and none of the 'bundled extra's' but he didn't quite get it. I logged in with an account that didn't have admin privileges to install software and then told him it wouldn't work. He looked at it for 20 minutes scratching his head before he gave up and just ticked that box on his install card. I signed it so he was happy. Grrrr |
It could be a DNS issue. Check the status page at you ISP website and see if they have any issues. Try pinging sites you can get and site you cant get if its unable to resolve the sites you cant get that will be it. Start -> run -> enter "cmd" press enter. In the black box type "ping www.site_you_can_see.com" see what it says paste in here. do the same with a site you can't see and paste in here and we will look. |
cool. I'll do that when I get home. I just ordered a new router as well because the current one doesn't match the decor. |
:D:D:D Ok Chi, I'll help out my friend. 1) Start Menu 2) Run 3) Type in "ipconfig /flushdns" (omitting the quotes) 4) Press OK button. Dunno if it will help your situation but, wont harm to try it either. Good luck - Frank |
