Don't think I mentioned the word advice and yes I agree WJB and Andy Ibbot have a wealth of knowledge they could pass on.
But this is more of an informal thing where those just starting out can possibly learn from those that have been doing it for a year or more. Where riders that were really disapointed in there first race meeting can possibly find out some of the reasons things aren't going so well for them.
A few of us were at this point last year and some were getting in some valuable testing during March and April. This year the season has started earlier with the newcomers having less chance to test and could be missing out on some basic setup knowledge, in class B race 1 there was approximately 20secs difference across the field, in Race 2 that grew to almost 40 secs, maybe these riders at the back are interested in finding out why there is that difference and can they possibly do anything to reduce the gap

lets face it all those that raced last year should have something to contribute, with the DD bikes we all started with a blank bit of paper.

My first line said buy a 600SS
followed by fit race bodywork, Fit Diablos, Race can, K&N filter and Dynojet kit. Sort some sprockets (not sure of sizes need to do some testing)

Other things that I found I had to sort were
suspension
Bar position
Footpeg position
Brakes
Dyno run (to understand power band, what there is of it)

I'm happy to talk to anybody about my thoughts on these things, along with other things like my attitude towards going racing and some of the things I think about when lining up on the grid or during the actual race and its nice to see a few others are also willing to share their experiences to do with racing in DD.
as we keep saying its our series and we will get out of it what we put in
So we will give it a go at Brands the evening before race day and see what comes from it.

Hey Kev,

Not sure if I can make it but would be happy to contribute my thoughts and experiences to date.

I do a lot a lot of personal and business 'coaching' at work to improve performance etc. I have applied them to my racing and it has paid dividends to date. Sunday was only my 6th proper DD race and a change in 'mental attitude' has allowed me to try and compete with the flying banana!:burn:

AK said he would be happy to natter about anything mechanical if anyone has any questions.... but wont answer the one from me - as to how many spares he actually carries:lol:
