so will it be okay to top up a 10/50 with a 15/50 if i cannot find 10/50?

I am about to do an oil change and was going to use halfords synthetic 5/40 for a few hundred miles to flush any rubbish out of the system before changing to a better oil such as shell oil.

Is it safe to use a 5w oil in a ducati for a short period?
