I'm sure if you shed a couple of sweaters you'd up your fuel consumption Glyn :devil::P:lol:

118 exactly - but then I'm a featherweight so must be wasting fuel somehow :devil::devil::devil:

On a 996 that is

About 135 on a Monster - cheap as chips :D

this is bizarre then as it either means:

a) i ride very, very hard (i don't think i do)
b) you all ride very slowly (again, probably not the case)
c) i've had two 748's in a row with dodgy fuel senders
d) your bikes all have reserve petrol tanks in the frame like a buell

:)

600 ss 190 miles before fuel light came on tonight--- was starting to think the bulb had blown!!!!! topped up at 193 miles with 14.2 litres=3.1 gallons so thats 62.2 miles to the gallon or 13.6 miles (8.45 km) to the liter ----- cheaper than chips Ruth!

now if i changed the front sprocket up a tooth to 15 it would be even cheaper:cool:

ABOUT 115 -120 WHEN IT WAS A 748,NOW ITS A 853 ITS ABOUT 100MILES HARD RIDING BEFORE THE LIGHTS ON AND THATS WITH PUTTING OVER £13 IN THE TANK WHEN FILLING UP.

MY OLD R6 WOULD BE ABOUT 100 MILES BEFORE THE LIGHT CAME ON BUT WHEN I WAS OUT RIDING WITH A MATE RUNNING IN HIS CBR6 I GOT 160 OUT OF THE R6 BEFORE THE LIGHT CAME ON, IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE HOW FAR YOU OPEN THE THROTTLE !!!:lol::lol:

Dunno, I'll ask my mechanic. You can't expect me to know something like that, I can only just remember which circuit to turn up at

115 - 125 miles.

748S with termi's. Right hand not always full of lead. ;)

Most modern bikes run to about 110 before running onto reserve, that's about how long your'e arse lasts! Fuel warning lights are very unreliable, set your trip meter when you fill up and start to look for fuel after 110 miles or so and you won't go far wrong!

I have run my 851 for 165 miles, but on another time run out bone dry at 122 miles,so stick to the 110 miles formula and you should be on the safe side.

OK, so the gauge might be inaccurate......

I normally fill up as soon as the light comes on, she usually takes about £12 worth and I more or less brim the tank (but I don't overdo it) when she's on the sidestand. And when I fill up, I always reset the odo

Taking the amount of fuel used as an indication, I get about £12 to each 80-90 miles on the odo

How does that seem?

:eureka:
