I am a luddite - I prefer to do it manually. Here's a thought for some of you who might consider messing around with shims, stops or any other heath robinson mods etc. If you have not fully tested mod and it goes wrong then you may get yourself into a shed load of bother. Believe me - a throttle stuck wide open is pretty terrifying and you may not have the presence of mind or time to reach for the kill switch.

Go to an expert if you must do it - like John Hackett.

May be I have missed something (sorry in advance) but couldn't you just keep the fast idle open a bit while you are on the track?

Best tell that to all the 998r owners then cos its the same engine same throttle bodies just turned around, and.....a single cable operation!
