he has a 600SS so what's your point in this thread |

he's got a Monster... and wants a faster/better bike. the 748 isn't really either of them. It's as fast as a 1999 Jap 600, and as relaible as a 1948 Hillman Imp. (ok that's sort of a joke) IT amazes me at times how blinkered to trying something else Ducati riders are. I was a true advocate of Ducati's and still have a pristine 748s in my shed, however there comes a time when you realise, they are really not that great. I'm all for Brand Loyalty, but you have to be realistic with it. ? |
well that's where we disagree a 748 is not faster than a 600SS ? reliable. in my opinion it will be as reliable as any second hand jap bike for £3000 |

But we all know that it's how you ride it that matters ... I seem to recall a certain person being given lessons on this while riding their R1 round Cadwell by some other certain 600SS riding persons... |

i agree 100%, however has little to do with the discussion. they are racers on race bikes, i was a trackdayer on my shiney road bike i had to ride home on Sunday. |

Beanie, believe it or not.... by recommending he buys something from the East, is being helpful. I'm still the exact same person i was, just my opinions on certain subjects has changed. how exactly is having a different thought to some others being **** stiring ? some don't liike the 999, some hate the Multistrda, are they all doing the same by commenting on it ? |
Just to stir things further, Moto Rapido have a 2001 748 in yellow with FSH etc and only 7900 miles down from £4995 to £3990! Beth they wouldn't give me a px on a Fazer though! |

Oooh! Have you found a way to avoid having your testicles stored on the mantlepiece yet :p Weeksy, Paul wants a 748 ... as you are so fond of saying, end of. |

sorry, i thought he said "what do you think guys" Hmmmmm |
Nothing wrong with a 748 on the way up, the are a very good bike with the styling and handling of their bigger relatives. There are many a happy 748 owner around, but once they progress further up the biking ladder I can't see many returning to the 748 especially with 916s available for less than £3k. But going to something like a R1 is a waste of time for most as the majority can't ride them to the bikes full potential, not even the international licence holders at the TT. Currently Ozz is on a bike that would have been in the Formula 3 class, the 748 like the Jap 600s would be F2 and the 998/999 and Jap 1000s woyuld be F1, best thing is to progress through the ranks. rather than trying to leap to the top of the pile. My bikes while growing up went, 125, 250, 350, 400, 750, 1100 |
