"Power is nothing without control"

You only have to look in the lap time difference between WSB bikes and WSS machinery to see that power isn't everything.

MotoGP have gone from 990 to 800 and they are going faster??

As a spectator I couldn't care less about how expensive or cheap the bikes are as long as the racing is close and the bikes have enough go to overcome the grip offered by the rear tyres easily!!

It doesn't matter what the regs say it will always be possible to spend whatever budget is available, be it DD, superstocks, WSS, WSB or Moto GP.

There are a million and one ways to spend money looking for that edge both on and off track.

A BIG budget doesn't always buy a championship, but it cam make loosing one a bit more humbling!!

I agree with that at the top levels where bikes have an excess of hp, but superstocks have year on year gone faster as the bikes have got more power. I guess as they 'only' have 170ish hp the tyres can still cope. Once power moves into the 200+ bracket we do see that bikes with a few bhp less are lapping as quick.

I for one can't wait to see how the 1098 does in superstock and just how much hp it does it with.

Had to take a dose of sensible pills buying a new set of wheels for the "handbrake" or I'd have brought a wallace and grommit type Enfield and sidecar combo home or a GRP N Evo rallycar for the shopping/family trips out, don't worry the effects of the sensible Pills will wear off soon, .................................................. .............now where's that Orange Country Choppers brochure:o

Ray.
