Glad your ok Glyn - could have been much worse. But are we seriously suggesting its his fault for abiding by the rules of engagement, sorry Highway Code?? I appreciate we have a responsibility to keep ourselves safe but, come on, this just adds to the idiots (like in MCN this week) who insist it is for the motorcyclist to sort out not the other road users...lets wake up and stand up for our rights!:flame: |

heheheh....i never use my mirrors wots behind me dont matter...its your job to get past..... I have had my share of offs as well vman so i can feel your frustration with the shitty cars drivers at times..but i dont think kicking the door is the way forward is all im saying...we all ride and deal with thing different ways neither i guess is right or wrong just different. So you deal with it your way but to advise this is a decent option is wrong besides for those that have kicked a car on the move know that is not smart and can quite easily push you over or at the least move you of your line.....ths line that you so venomously defend..... :puzzled: that was fun but im bored now..hope to see you at the rocky track day in the fast group. |

Sri to hear of your unfortunate encounter with deaf, dumb and blind motorist sitting pretty in their nice tin can. There is one piece of kit on your bike that is all too often forgotten and is a god-send on these occasions - and I don't wish to preach to the converted, use your HORN. If I get the feeling that a motorist is not paying attention to what is going on around themselves, and I think they may have an effect on my safety, especially an overtaking manouver, they get a long blast from my horn, not once, but often several times to alert them of my presence. Leave nothing to chance - Ride defensively, take control of your own destiny and use all of your available resources to gain control of the road, (your space) if need be. :ninja: |
Oh, yeah! The horn. Mostly used to attract the notice of someone a person knows while they are walking along the pavement  It's actually a really useful piece of kit, for all sorts of situations (including approaching blind bends on narrow country lanes). I usually have my thumb over the button (plus a finger on the hi-beam flasher) when I am about to overtake, amazing how that can save your life on occasion - especially on dual carriageways. A mate of mine had an air-horn wired into his ZZR1100 - if he used that sucker, there was never any chance of a "didn't see you mate" (more a case of "I can't hear anymore, mate!"). Are such things legal? I'd like one. |
Glyn Cripes mate, must've got the old ticker going a bit. Glad you're ok anyway albeit shaken up. It makes you want to grab the guy by the neck and say WAKE UP YOU IDIOT  Anyway, hope the misting lid is sorted and say hi to the BHC guys for me. I feel left out now with the 600rr in me garage!! :o Cheers Mike |
Glyn, thank feck your ok and will live to ride another day. This sort of thing makes my blood boil! Hey,now you know why we all have race cans fitted.Load pipes save lives!;) Or some old cobblers. Ramble deleted,as drunk.........................:) |
Hey Glyn, hope everything is ok with you and the bike fix is cheap! Take it easy ... TP |
glyn, same thing happened to me on my diversion 900 with doris on the back. 2 lanes clearly marked, people carrier takes the right, i take the left. he then staight lines the r.a.b. sideswiping me. we managed to stay upright & came to a stop. i decided to clear off as stoopidly my mot was a week out. he was left with a hole in his passenger door, maybe he'll think twice before doing it again, maybe he wont. anyway, glad you wern't hurt |
