Martin, Paul is refering to a 'Bora' conversion, cost is about £160 last time I checked. Baines Racing at Silverstone do them, and others I expect. I can confirm that Pauls ST2 is somewhat LOUD-I christened it the Lancaster Bomber since that's what it sounds like. The 2 valve bikes are always more noisy on cans than the 4 valve.

My ST4 had the standard cans done before i bought it. Sounds awesome but way too loud to ride without ear plugs. I think the original owner paid about £170 to have them done. I also set off the odd car alarm but i can live with that and non of my neighbours have complained in the last year. If i'm working on it in the garage for any length of time i do have to wear ear defenders though!

Paul.

Bora Conversion

Hey there folks,

I am new to the forum and Ducatis as a whole. Absolutly loving my 2006 ST3s. I have been doing some reading and am most interested in this Bora conversion. or where can I get some decent Aftermarket cans? I am in the Rutland Area

How does the Bora conversion affect MOTs?

Thanks in advance.

Scotty

Blimey Scott - 11 year old thread revival is possibly a new record!

An ST sold on here recently with DP headers, I think from an S4Rs and a stubby Termi pipe that looked awesome.

Not sure about the ST3 though but noise does not seem to be the issue it used to be.

Good luck - Frank
