having 4 groups in my view is a good idea , less chance of riders ending up in a group that's either to intimerdating or to slow. Plus 5 sessions on the G.P circuit........pro-plus/ 1 gallon of red bull later. |
There are a couple of reasons that we chose to run four groups 1) to keep down the costs to a sensible level, lots of people want to try the GP but cannot afford £280+ for a trackday 2) The GP circuit is very demanding, previous experience is that most people go home knackered at 3pm. By having 4 groups it gives a little more time for rest and recuperation which means: better concentration, improved learning capacity, safer riding and therefore more enjoyment. 3) Did I say 3? …. Finally running four groups at below capacity numbers means we are able to move people around should they find they are in a group not suited to their skill/speed ability. The groups will be Novice, Intermediate, Fast and ACU (racing member). Just a note that it doesn’t mean that if you have an ACU licence you are forced into the 4th group, however we will try to ensure that only ACU licence holders or racing experienced riders go into group 4. I say this because some DSC members who are starting racing this season have elected to join the intermediate group, but they will be able to move groups if desired. One further note is that all our instructors have current racing experience and are paid to teach, not given freebee trackdays. Guys like Garry Dickinson (www.garrydickinsonracing.iofm.net) will be on hand to help pass on his knowledge, and I’ll be there of course… |
Nice post Whele .... |
Good'un Gary! Look forward to it, very many years since my one experience on the GP circuit, love the Indy, should I stick with Novice and see how I get on or dive straight back into Inters? :puzzled: |
what are you doing up at 7am Mr Psychlist? |

mate - simply put, some of us are not able to master our own working hours...boss dictates on this:( never know what may happen between now and July, loads of peeps gone in the lsat couple of months, more pressure for sales success, who says he'll be there????;) may have to hope on a late deal or just come along to watch |
If the 1 remaining space is still available for the second group - I'll take it. I can't miss the opportunity of seeing Dibble take to the grass and sliding to the doughnut wagon!!! Electricsheep - what do you need from me? Are we booking this together? And what groups have everybody else booked into? Tim:ninja: [Edited on 15-2-2005 by Rattler] |
Ok, My seven is complete again... I hope ElectricSheeps (inters) + 1(fast) Green1 748Mart psychlist neilkeogh Rattler I will send out a U2U to each person to confirm and gather all the details the trackday company needs. I will put up the groups we are in as soon as I have your details |
I've not done a track day yet so firstly r there any places left ? do you think this is the place for my first outing :mad:if yes im there .Guess it will have to be NOVICE::puzzled: |
Stocksie, Its as good a place as any, Paddock Hill Bend 1st time is AWESOME ... Best bet for a 1st day is any day where there is a significant DSC turn out .. that way you are guaranteed support, banter, assistance and ... when i'm there ... donuts ... There are indeed places left .... www.apextrackdays.co.uk But try and get another group of 7 together, that way u just pay for 6 spaces ... Dibble |
Stocksie, I am waiting for confirmation for a couple of people in my seven, if any of them drop out then I will add you to my group Rob |
Groups? Which group are the majority of us DSC lot booked into? I'd like to join the majority in a group, but if we're all over the place, then I'll be eliteist and go in the ACU!!!!;) Tim:ninja |

I'm somewhat questioning my sanity but I've nominated for the ACU group. I may move though, if others are going somewhere else. |

Quote:
Excellent, because I'm scared! :o |
is it acu/fast |
Work with the fear - let it be your friend!!! ;) At least with the GP circuit it'll take longer for us to get lapped!!;) |
No there are 4 groups on this day novice, inters, fast and acu Rob |
Quote:
 I may bring both bikes to this one ... |
Ok then I will start my own group. Me ? ? ? ? ? ? Pedro you up for this |
Quote:
I think if I was riding both bikes at once, I'd still get lapped!!! I'll probably take the Monster and ZX - this was really the reason why I delayed my decision on taking part as I do want to use both bikes and the fewer sessions meant that I probably wouldn't get the best out of either??? I'll see how it goes nearer the time, if I can get to Brands Indy on the Monnie before we race there, then I'll probably just take the ZX as an escape from all this DD milarkey. But if I haven't had a chance to "Monnie the Indy" then I'll mainly use the 620 and practice taking Paddock Hill at stupid speeds with no care for life nor limb!!!!;) Tim:ninja: |
I may be extracting the urine to be doing more than one TD at Brands while I'm racing this year as well!! Shhhh, she might here you and remember the Tag catalog on the coffee table which she has appeared to have forgotten about. Mind you, I've been getting all sorts of e-mails from paypal, it appears she has discovered e-bay!!! As a famous man once said "Oh dear oh dear oh dear" |
