Got me forks back and in, hurrah! Haven't time to clean her though, so i'll park away from everyone else's, obviously...
See y'all in't morning.

pibbow 08-Jul-2006 08:10

Due to all The Fuggin tourist that are at me hotel my missus has decided we will be two busy for me to take the day off so once again Pibbow can't come out to play

RightSaidFred 08-Jul-2006 09:19

Guess what? Got the forks in. Went to start her, battery deadsville. No problem says I, i'll jump it from this spare battery. Still nothing. No spark. There's an alarm on it which is chief suspect right now. Today of all days!!! Flippin Italian nightmare. If I don't see you all, take plenty of pics. Thinking about coming on my gsxr but it's not the same.

Yep, you missed a great day. Of course, many thanks to Nelly for hosting us all. great location for bike and 8xx bollox. As much tea and coffee as you could drink, and just around the corner for the maga breakfasts....

Considering the clash with the DD at Oulton I think we managed a great turn out, so many thanks to all the guys, great to meet you all.

Best regards,

Rob

philthy 08-Jul-2006 19:20

Just got back now. Only got lost twice..... Chatsworth Park is gorgeous.....I'll have to go back on a planned visit some time .... Speaking of gorgeous, thanks to kwikbitch for hunting the grub for us and thanks to nelly for the coffee and the venue , and thanks to rob for the original idea.

It was nice to put faces to names and have a natter and drool over the mods to other peoples bikes. Thanks also to everyone else for taking the time to turn up and making it an enjoyable day out.

I'm off for a hot bath now to ease the aches and pains and then maybe a glass of Baileys ( or two )

Phil

Have to agree, it was nice to put faces to names and it must have been a long time since there where that many 888,s all in the same place
,Jeeeez we even managed to get two 851,s and thats a first for me :D

Jools 08-Jul-2006 20:02

Just wrote a nice reply, then clicked the mouse, and it was on the little red cross that closes the browser...DOH...told you I was knackered.
More thoughts tomorrow when I've had a long hot soak and a long hot whisky (or three)

Good to meet you all.

see the surfboard thread for breaking news

gregmh900e 09-Jul-2006 10:55

so how many 8788s were there then

Screwy 09-Jul-2006 11:00

At a rough guess (I didnt count them unfortunately) there was at least ten 888,s and two 851,s . There were a fair few pics taken with the bikes lined up outside Cornerspeed,s doors which will probably be posted up later . For lovers of the 8 series bikes it was a sight worth seeing tbh .

Nattyboy 09-Jul-2006 12:01

Cheers guys...nice ride out and good to ride the old girl again (first proper time since september !!). Ride through the cotswolds/fosse way at 7 in the morning was awesome..just like my own personal (70mph obviously..ahem!) racetrack with NO traffic !!.

Jasper you cheeky t**t !! Dont forget to sort my carbon bits out..

Thanks for nelly for opening up and lisa for getting my bakewelltart in !!

Cheers
Nat (Looking forward to the pics)

By the way - shouldn't we have a trophy for the furthest travelled bike on the day? ( Assuming we do this again next year ) you know, just like they do on rallies and treffens.

beancounter 10-Jul-2006 08:32

An excellent day.

Many thanks to Nelly for hosting the gathering.

Best part for me was putting faces to names - was really good to meet everyone who turned up!

But - only 9 888's ? (including two 851's) - I must admit I was expecting (or hoping for ) two or three times that many.

Maybe next year?

BC

Iconic944ss 10-Jul-2006 09:31

Hee Hee - or maybe another chance to get together on the 29th ;)

I've always thought of 851/888's as the 'Big Brothers' of the SS Series.

Just make sure Neil does not wear any Hawaiian shorts for surfin'

Frank
