need a spare carbon nosecone to get a numberboard put on ?? LOL

jj250 08-Aug-2006 13:45

sharpy, ive noticed the nosecone for sale and am considering it,just may have to let the significant other get used to the bike first, i sold her the idea on the basis that i wouldnt waste any more ££ on extras if i bought one of these.....if only she knew!!

Yes, just wait until you have spent about £5k on it like me or god knows how much Butch has spent on his with the engine work etc !!!!

andyb 08-Aug-2006 20:30

Could of got one with proper power for all that money...........

...whatever!

ricco749s 09-Aug-2006 00:29

and a semi-erotic, stretchy red cover and paddock stand, and without the clutch problems and the regular return to the spanner man to have the cutting-out problem sorted...again. Still seems like an excellent buy, however - enjoy!

sye73 09-Aug-2006 08:58

besides, I thought a 999R was of lower spec than a 749R ???

iang 09-Aug-2006 09:21

Yes it is lower spec,no slipper clutch, no larger tank, just a bigger engine and I bet Butch,s 749R will give the 999R a good run for its money ???

999R does get a magnesium headlamp shell tho'
and a cover and termig race exhaust kit and a presentation box with something ?

all be it for £6k extra !!!

iang 09-Aug-2006 11:28

Yes but the headlamp shell is available for £95, the cover is about the same and the exhaust is just the assymetric version about £900 which probably is about the same amount as the 749R slipper clutch, larger tank etc.
How any manufacturer can justify the huge price increases for a larger engine is beyond me, surely they cost roughly the same to make, they all use the same basic parts only larger bores/ pistons etc. This applies to every manufacturer. Fair enough when you are getting better forks, shocker, damper etc but most of the japanese bikes are exactly the same apart from the engine.
