National, same as I've raced with New Era, NGRRC and the MCC its all I can ever recall Club Racing using. |

When I booked the Trackday it was billed as the new GP circuit layout and the Map of the new layout was included in the PDF that contained the days itinerary and indemnity form that was sent to me on the 12th Jan. Now if they are changing that I will want to know if they will be offering me a discount on a future date on the New GP layout The PDF is even titled Silverstone Itinerary New GP 2010 Otherwise I would have went with Hottrax the following Monday as per the original intention and they are still billing there day on the 29th as the Arena GP circuit http://www.hottrax-online.com/produc...ducts_id=15480 |
Talking to some of the circuito staff at the weekend it will be a few weeks before the Arena circuit is finished, but it is several weeks ahead of plan. Plenty of JCB's etc round Club and Abbey yesterday so I think you will be correct Skids |
All I can say is b*gga:( my fault guys as I got too excited when I saw it was on the weekend, shout at me on Saturday if you like:o |

Kim the trackday was originally advetised as the NEW GP circuit, I have the PDF sent me by FE to prove it, they have obviously altered there site since then |
Just fired off my second email to FE. I am a Man who likes to have a bit of paper telling him where to go and have had no details through either email or post so far. They did not respond to first email. Hoping this is just a hitch. The circuit is what it is but would have been nice to be the new one as advertised. Mark. |
Was just speaking to somebody at the circuit and it will be the national circuit this weekend :biaggi: Sorry to advise, would have been grat to see you all on the new circuit, the tarmac is down but not all the barriers are in place yet |

Likewise, I also sent a email to them basically saying it would have been nice to Know that we are not going to be using the circuit layout we booked and paid for. Gordon now informs us it will be the National track, then there is no way i would have been paying the same money for the National circuit as I would the New GP circuit layout. I have no issue with the National circuit as its the one we will race on and well suited to the DD bikes, but I may not have bothered getting the 998R ready and certainly wouldn't have paid that money I would more than likely have gone with hottrax date 9 days later who are still saying they are on the Arena GP circuit. If I only wanted to do the National we could have done the one on April 23rd |
agree Kev!! Grrrrrrrrrrr |
I really dont mind which track providing I get a few giggles and give the bike a good  run out. Mark. |
Have to agree with Kev. This time last year we booked the national circuit which was about £75 I think, making the price hike to £125 seem reasonable for the full GP track. I must say I'm disappointed that no information has come through and I too may well have booked a different date with a more interesting track.... |
£125 for a 1.6 mile circuit in March is taking the p**s......but at least I might be able to remember it  Also I bet the the groups will be huge as they will have been for a 3 mile circuit!!!! |
I've just spoken with Gemma in bookings at FE. She has confirmed that the circuit this weekend will be the BRIDGE GP track. Not the ARENA GP, as it's not ready. The PDF I received from FE on Jan 21st is just called "Silverstone Itinerary International & GP.pdf" I can't see within it any mention of the ARENA GP. Anyway, it doesn't look like I will have a bike available for this weekend, so I won't be riding. Anyone interested in a place in the fast group? Available for the original price of £125, which means I'll even pay the 15% admin fee for the name change. If you're interested, let me know, send the money and I'll have the name changed over the phone with FE before Saturday. |
Just check out the Circuit layout and the title of the PDF |

Yep the same as the one I got, they should have at least had the decency to inform those attending that it had changed even if it wasn't their fault! |
At least it looks like a gp track anyway not national |
i got the same PDF as Skids, with the Arena cicuit diagram. Annoying they havent fessed up at this late stage and offered refunds/credits. Actually, it wouldnt be so bad if were just the National layout as that way I would have a chance to ride it before DD round having never done it before, but doing the Bridge GP on the DD bike is just going to be pointless... might see if I can get my £125 back. |
weird, I'm sure we booked at around the same time Kev and they sent me a PDF titled ITINERARY FOR SILVERSTONE INTERNATIONAL / GP Circuit with a circuit diagram showing a different circuit pic. But still ****ed were not doing the new one. Craig |
May contact them about cancelling if it's not what I booked and spend ghe money on the session before race day |
I too spoke to Gemma yesterday. Mainly because I still dont have an itinary. Now thats two emails and a call and no itinary. Only done one FE event before and that was well organised in adverse conitions. I am very disapointed as I wanted the new track, if not then the DD track would have been good. Now down to third choice. Still a day out with the biike . Mark |

we'll have a great laugh too ;) |
They were still working down at Club/Abbey at 6.30 last night and a load of Porche supercup transporters outside last night so it looks as if they are pushing to get the "Bridge" circuit ready |
Yes it will be great to get together, yes a great track, but as this was not as advertised I feel cheated as FE should have informed us or at least not mislead us in the first instance. My pdf shows the international and GP circuits which I assumed as the new GP circuit as I am not familiar with Silverstone at all.:( |
Would have prefered the new layout and I do feel let down. This will be my second outing with FE. The first I was very impressed and now not at all impressed. With Brands coming up its just an excuse to get out and make sure everything is working ok. Oooh and have some fun too. Feel free to pop by and say hello Yellow DD bike #69. Are there garages etc available ? Never been to Silverstone before. Mark. |
Quote:
Garages are good as you would expect from FI pits etc if they are open/built!!:) Restaurant just at the back of them and good easy acces in and out again subject to JCB's etc. I'll more than likely say hello as not sure if my bikes going to be ready yet. |
Skids and co usually grab a garage or two at the far end near to copse( 1st corner)/pit lane exit The current pits/garages have not been touched as they will build a new complex between Club and Abbey next winter for F1 |
Well it's now official the bike will not be ready in time:( Parts arrived in good time or so they thought but ony inlet valves so after a suggestion to phone dealers it would appear they are like hens teeth and JHP has got 10 on backorder. So I find myself without a bike a trackday that was not as advertised and no idea of when the bike will be fixed:mad: Oh and I wrote to FE and have not heard anything so it looks like I'll be driving up guys so see you all there.;) |
Gutted for you Kim :( |

What are you short of ?? Pistons ? |
I'll maybe call in to see who is about if I get the chance. I'm on the Stowe circuit doing a sprint, at least if it rains I'll have a roof over my head:D Ray. |
Quote:
To be honest Gordon I don't really know but all that has been mentioned is the valves, again not sure which ones. Do you have a stah hidden away then? |
|
Craig that puddle is just like the one inside the garage today It never rains but it pours, WET WET WET and my 998R and Phil the Drills 999 obviously don't like splashing through puddles. Well done for those that did most of the sesions on road tyres, Andy Sheppard out on his 848 in the fast group, almost everybody else in the group was on full wets, same goes for Tom Parkes out in the inters on his DD bike on Rossos while everyone around him was on wets, Nev748 out in Novices on my old 748, only his third trackday and again keeping it upright on road tyres. Great to see everyone today, shame the weather didn't play ball. |
yes, good fun but very wet. 748 was covered in filth after that so washed down and covered in WD40 now! |
Well what a day, great to spend time with good mates and a BIG thanks to Trudi for the non stop supply of coffee. Good to see Steve and Shell turn up to support us. As for the track day, well at least we were the first bikes to use the new GP circuit, just a shame it was during a monsoon........that's the most expensive lap that I have ever done, fine for those on Wets, but on Super Corsa BSB's it was a not for me. From the number of Red flags my decision was confirmed, with 2 of the offs half way down the start/finish straight. Definitely want to do it again, but on a warm, dry day :) |
The weather may have been bad but the company was good. Many thanks for trying to get my bike started and Robby for getting it back home. Good to see everyone again. |
Good craic shame I can't say the same about the riding Sure it will mend  |
Quote:
You'll notice I didn't mention that :D |
Did think of you guys at Silverstone yesterday. And the weather conditions. Sounds like it was still good fun. Clint. |
Quote:
er......not really. Would have been more fun in the pub and noted Roy thanks, but I've told her now...remember I don't lie ;) |
