Mebbe choice of bike has got a lot to do with it. A 999 or 998 *is* a bit of a rocket-ship for road use (as is a Gixxer 1000, RSVR Factory, etc, etc...).

I find the 748 pretty ideal on the road. 100-ish ponies is plenty on our crowded roads. Unless you live in the IOM, Highlands of Scotland, or some such.

yep, i agree, thats probably why the 600cc class of sports bike is the biggest seller in the uk, one litre sports are just too fast for our cramped, over populated country.....:)
