I've had a fair few off's over the years (who hasn't?) but non like this :puzzled: I just get the feeling it was cold tyres and maybe a tad too much lean angle, really hard to say for sure, I was only 300yds from home so the tyres were clearly stone cold and rumbled around the r/about at 25mph, just started to roll the throttle on the exit, not a handful by any means and next thing I'm spinning round towards the deck, like I've said the swingarm is the major damage, the rest is the usual stuff from an off, clip on, peg, lever... blah blah blah

It's knocked the confidence a bit though as I keep replaying it over and over in my head trying to figure out exactly what I did.

I think they'll be gaffer tape a plenty for the weekend though :D

I've read quite a few reports that the local councils have used a new additive with the salt this year which has made the roads VERY slippy.

As the roads still seem covered in it, it may just expalin it.

Was something in MCN recently and our area is one of the areas using the stuff.

Might explain it I guess, there were signs of salt/grime etc on the road, no oil/diesel as I first suspected.

it was very odd i have to say, not a gradual back end letting go as i have seen before, it was so sudden and as he said he wasn't going quick or leaning it over miles as we are both pretty steady.

Might be worth lodging a claim against the council, take some photos and try and collect up any of the salt if it's still there. You never know ....

i dunno about collecting the salt, i did offer to wander back over and pick up dzus and various other bits of debris :frog:

he did come back to help me push it :)
